I can add my comment because I am very accustomed to authentic Greek restaurants as I am from the south side of Chicago and grew up at a Greek restaurant...we were there almost daily. So....i think I can speak with alot if experience. Tinos is near my work so I decided to drop in for lunch to go. This week is one of the hottest on record here and I think it speaks for itself to say that the waiting area there was hotter than outside. The faces of the people working in the kitchen were so red. Dude...it was HOT. So maybe that was rhe reason they weren't all that friendly. And maybe that is why it took almost 20 minutes to make a gyro?! Was it good. Yes! They certainly didn't skimp on the meat for sure. The tzsaki sauce...not a fan! I also ordered rice pudding. This is a mainstay in all Chgo. Greek restaurants so yeah I wanted some. Nope!! Not a fan! Vanilla pudding mixed with rice and cinnamon on too does not constitute real rice pudding but then again...who knows..maybe their family recipe. Bottom line, no I won't return. I will drive 10 more minutes to Harrison Ave. And go to Babas Schwarma Grill which is fantastic!! And...they have fresh hummus!! Tinos does not have any hummus. And to top it all off I didn't get chips with my gyro. Oh well...live,...
Read moreI can't thank Tino’s Greek-American Family Restaurant enough for stepping in and saving the day! I had a lunch & learn event scheduled for 120 parishioners at a local Catholic Church. The water at the senior living community that I work for was unexpectedly shut off, and my dining department was unable to prepare the meal we had planned. Just when I thought all was lost, Tino’s came through like a true hero. With little time to spare, Tino’s not only agreed to cater the event, but they provided an incredible meal that left everyone raving. The salad was fresh, the lasagna was perfectly made, and the breadsticks were a huge hit. The parishioners absolutely loved the food! Tino’s not only saved my job but ensured the event was a success. I am beyond grateful for their generosity, flexibility, and delicious food. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant for any...
Read moreNice little place with great potential. Food is primarily frozen commissary packaged. It's ok, but nothing fantastic. Their strong suit, homemade Greek dishes. They have a few and those dishes shine! I strongly encourage the chef to focus on simple home made dishes prepared on site. I know, easier said than done, but that's the only way you'll set yourself apart and become a neighborhood favorite! Otherwise, service was very good, dining room a bit cold, not temperature, decor. Add more color and items of interest in the decor to liven things up. We need a good family restaurant in White Oak! Please take this as positive feedback. The rest of us need to get out and support this place and encourage these folks to grow and succeed! This place has the makings of a great little restaurant. Owner/Chef, take note and get on it! We're...
