Hidden gem. The food is SO tasty!!
I consider myself rather picky when it comes to restaurants/ food reviews, etc. (I.e. I only think 5 outta 5 stars is appropriate IF (and only if) the food, service, etc. warrant 5 stars if that is what the reviews show (or even above 4.5 stars... what Im trying to get at is that if a place shows 4.5-5 stars, I am typically reluctant to believe it until I hv experienced it myself. THAT BEING SAID.....Wow. What a refreshing accurate average rating of 4.8 here. Food was superbly delicious as many reviews share, and service was fantastic. HUGE fan and hv become somewhat of a regular.
I was originally quite interested in Back Home Restaurant based on the great reviews. I was hoping that it wouldn't disappoint since I can hv fairly choosy standards one may say, and as I mentioned above, I often can be skeptical regarding high reviews. But Back Home. Its reviews are legit.
We first went with my sis-in-law who was in town. She seemed to mk it no secret that she would rather go elsewhere, but my husband was tired and wanted to go somewhere close. I am SO glad that we ended up going there as it was DELICIOUS with great service. My sis-in-law even liked what she had-(the nachos,) (and believe me-we would hv heard abt it if that were not the case.)
I ordered the lamb shank which was beyond amazing! I recommend ordering it with a double side o garlic mashed (instead of garlic mashed & broccoli. ) soooo tasty!
I hv my husband pick me up a burger fairly often (without bacon as we don't eat pork.) I'd love it if they would offer a 100% grass-fed burger although I still keep ordering this since tastewise it's hands-down the best burger in the area. By far.
The creme brulee is delicious as well (although the churros didn't do much for me.) I'm glad I asked Silvana (the owner) abt the "vanilla custard" since it sounded like flan from her description, and I've never cared much for flan. It led me to skip it which I was grateful to know ahead of time.
Oh. The Grannie's Breaded Chicken was Ah.MAY.Zing!! I typically wouldn't order a chicken breast or anything similar, but Silvana recommended it. Knowing how tasty things are there, I trusted her judgment and was blown away at first bite. Incredible with lemon squeezed over it as she encouraged. Takes it up even one more notch. My husband tasted it n liked it so much that he said he was getting it next time (which he did when we ordered carry out.)
I am confident that you will like this place. Please check them out-not just because you will most likely enjoy it tremendously, but let's ensure that we keep them in business. Believe me when I tell you that this is the kind of place that you will want to have around. Especially with the economy as it is, I have tried to be more and more selective and very intentional with where I spend my money. This may be quite possibly the only restaurant in the area that I want to support and ensure I help keep in business. I encourage you to do the same and am confident you won't regret trying them out.
P.S. My husband really likes the...
Read moreI know I will sound like a stuck record with all the other outstanding reviews for this place, but it truly was incredible. From the moment my girlfriend and I walked in there until I walked out, I was treated with some of the best hospitality in South Florida I have received in years. The staff was funny and attentive. They were around if you needed anything and great conversation.
But enough about how good the people in the restaurant are. Let’s talk food. We started with the fried mac and cheese bites, which were divine. My gf and I are very picky and have had a LOT of fried mac and cheese bites that we did not like. These were different; the house made marinara to dip and the crispy crunchy outside with ooey gooey mac and cheese inside? Count us in, cause they killed it. Perfect size portion for two as well.
Now let’s get into the main courses, I opted for the Churrasco where my lady went for the Garlic Shrimp. It’s pretty easy to mess up the thin cut that goes into making a good Churrasco but they executed it perfectly. The Chimichurri was perfectly spiced and topped the delicious cut, siding it were amazing mashed potatoes and frankly the best green beans I have ever had as a side before.
My girlfriend enjoyed the Garlic Shrimp very much dont get me wrong, but the real surprise was my seafood hating self LOVING the bite I took. No fishy flavor and an amazing garlic kick. First restaurant of 2024 to get me looking back to the ocean for a meal.
Of course we couldn’t leave without dessert, so we opted for the Ray of Sunshine. Crispy dough topped with honey and brown sugar with vanilla ice cream as a dip? Need I say more?
Truthfully an incredible experience. I will be returning and plan on telling even more people about this incredible establishment.
I think the hallmark of a truly great restaurant is enjoying your meal so much, you’re not sure if you want to try anything new or just get the same meal when you return. I am happy to have that struggle now with Back Home, cause I will absolutely be returning and 100% confident anything I get is delicious. Truly hidden gem and worth the drive if you aren’t local.
PS - There are no pictures cause the food was eaten by the time I thought to take my phone out. 10/10...
Read moreI rarely post reviews but after visiting Back Home Restaurant multiple times now, I wanted to take the time to share what a great little find it is. The restaurant just opened in January and I can see from my own visits that they already have happy, returning customers. The place has a friendly atmosphere and each time the customer service has been spot on. As soon as you arrive you will be greeted by Silvana, who owns the restaurant with her husband William. She is very attentive and has a friendly and welcoming personality. Astrid, the young lady they have working there was also very sweet. To start with, I had the frozen margaritas which I thought were amazing and the best part is that they have happy hour all day!! The menu has a variety of options to choose from. On my first visit, I tried the Ox Tail Stew. It is slow cooked in a family recipe sauce and they served it with the BEST homemade garlic bread that I've ever tasted which was perfect for sopping up all of that yummy deliciousness. Next, I tried the Raspberry Chipotle Chicken Wings which they marinate and slow cook as well. The meat just falls off the bones. (A must try is all I can say!) I have already ordered the Grannie's Breaded Steak twice. It was so good!! The dinners come with a choice of two sides, my choices were the green beans and the garlic mash potatoes and they did not disappoint. Every plate of food that I watched go by me looked better than the last, from the salmon, to the tacos, to the enchiladas and even the lamb shank which makes this girl who does not eat lamb want to try it. I will definitely be coming back and would encourage you if you're in the area to stop by and give them a try. You'll be...
