El Greco — Restaurant in Greenfield

I get a craving for a gyro from here …that doesn’t stop until Im on my way driving miles and miles to get there… Im picky about my gyros, but no worries: This is a “mom and pop” Greek place… They are the best of the best.. They are top notch and then some, with homemade authentic tzatziki- perfect- the real deal. Best Ive had here. A friend had lamb kabobs and they were so beyond excellent I would have traded my gyro if they would’ve let me. Alas they declined, lol. Nothing have I tried except the french fries that they cook twice, way crispier than I like, would I not say is best in class. If I could ever get them to give me some after the first drop, I might have to move closer! Yeah yeah, no bathroom is a pain, and some grouchiness before they knew me, but that’s the Greek ‘Mom and Pop’ authentic you want, right? It comes with the territory and its authentic too, along with a month off in Summer- its worth adjusting for. Get there before they retire/sell the place. … or miss out...

We recently stopped in here for a quick takeout lunch. I was absolutely appalled by the lack of professionalism by the owner. He was making my gyro without gloves (in the middle of a pandemic nonetheless). I told him I was not comfortable eating it as he wasn’t wearing gloves and he literally through the sandwich across the kitchen area into the trash. He started stomping into the back to make another when I said “no thanks I’ll pass” and he responded with “even better” and muttered some swear words under his breathe. I was here with my elderly Mother who couldn’t believe they way we were treated. I would never recommend this place. All food prep should be done with gloves and the owner was so rude and...

Great place, nice service, and good prices.

As a fan of greek food (and not much of a fan of Greenfield) I would happily eat here again. I ordered the falafel platter with rice as the side and it was fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed the salty-lemony flavor of the rice. I noticed that this was a popular spot with the locals for lunch: it filled up quickly and suddenly. The food continued to come out quickly. I enjoyed the service. The woman working the counter was friendly and helpful with the menu. If you are downtown I would recommend stopping...
