Cracker Barrel Old Country Store — Restaurant in Greensboro

When we first walked in somebody busted glass all over the floor. It sat there for about 40 to an hour nobody trying to pick it up. then we went to order food and drinks. They brought out all unsweet tea, and then said there was a mixup that somebody accidentally poured the sweet tea out so we had to get sodas which we were OK with but then we went to go order our food when the waitress came back we were told they were out of fried chicken, chicken and dumplings and dumplings. Now please note this is my son’s graduation. We came here to celebrate after his graduation, and got the worst experience I have ever seen. My son received his food but they forgot half of it. They gave him five fries! Lumpy hard mash potatoes! My other son got watery Mac n cheese and they forgot his fries! I got burnt bacon, pancakes to where go looked like crepes! last straw was when I bit into my sausage and it was ice, cold and raw.they also forgot half my food! My son asked for ketchup and never got it!! We came in at 9pm June 8th!! They close at 11! Idk if they were mad That we came in two hours before closing!! But we’re about to spend $250 and half our order was missing other half was nasty!! My husband at this time was so upset and pissed off that we demanded the bill and corporate’s number manager, a woman, said well I’m comping your meals so I don’t understand why you won’t corporate‘s number but if you want it, I’ll give it to you just cause you comp our meal does not mean that we can’t still call you literally left a danger zone of glass when we got there and ever since we sat down it was one thing after another you forgot half our food you forgot half of the condiments that we asked for then when you finally bring the food out half of it’s missing half of it nasty and raw! They gave my boys like maybe five french fries and its mashed potatoes were so hard and chewy like bubblegum. My other son didn’t get his french fries and he received lumpy hard mashed potatoes I my self received a grandma sampler I got burnt bacon. I’ve got no grits that I ordered in my pancakes looked like crepes! One pancake cut in half! My son received his food but they forgot half of it. They didn’t give him his Okura. and when I said something about it, they kind of said yeah they messed up the middle of mixing it and I was like but you still served it what sense does that make? Cooks are horrible there!! Service sucks!! Management is a joke!! Glass on floor for almost an hour??!! My sons dinner was ruined and now we’re replanning this!! Won’t ever go here again!! I was so sad and upset for my son who we were celebrating and it’s not fair to him! Not to mention, we had to ask for biscuits and...

This location is SO frustrating and a great example of poor management crippling good employees. The hostesses are excellent. Friendly, professional and quick. The waitresses are good, our waitress tonight, Sabrina, was GREAT. She is new, I could tell because I've worked in restaurants for over 20 years, but I didn't see her stop moving from table to table the entire time I was there. When she fell behind a little due to being given too many large tables at the same time I noticed the manager standing by a customer's table chatting with the customers. He looked around, saw her racing around and GAVE HER A NASTY LOOK!!!! What kind of manager doesn't appreciate his employees hard work and rather than give them support and encouragement, instead gives them looks of derision?? I've rarely been that upset at management in my entire career. I pray that his failure at managent and basic leadership doesn't chase a good employee out of this career and rather just chases her to a restaurant that properly trains and supports their employees. The food as usual was very good. My burger was cooked well, juicy and delicious. The loaded potato could have had the cheese melted but it was fine. My mother's hamburger steak with gravy and caramelized onions was so good she wanted to lick the plate.

The food and great waitresses make us come back hoping eventually the management will be replaced. In the current market that may not be so easy....but it's really making us go to other restaurants when we would go here more and more. More training won't help fix bad attitudes and entitled managers....HUMILITY will. Get another job dude. One where you don't have power of young girls new to the industry. I'm getting mad even writing this review. Such is the pains of a man that's worked under quality managers in great restaurants and knows what to look for.

If it weren't for management I'd have given 5 stars.

And I blame the GM as well for keeping shift managers like this in...

Stopped in today, 5/9/24 for lunch. I hate to say it but they are not any better than the last time. Was able to order pretty quickly but then had to wait for a long time to get my food. It was not worth the wait..Catfish had no flavor and I had to cut it with a knife, potatoes were cold, the only good thing were the biscuits and the waitress. I will definitely not be going back to this particular Cracker Barrel for a long time.

We stopped in today, 1/25/24 for breakfast and I have to say we were disappointed again. Sausage was tasteless, bacon looked crisp but was actually floppy, Hashbrown Casserole was dry and old tasting. The only good thing was the waitress, she was very polite and professional. We will not be going back again. Sure wish they would read their reviews and fix the problems.

Had to write an updated review...we stopped in today, May 17, 2023 to get supper to go. We were very disappointed when we got home...my Broccoli Cheddar Chicken had 3 small pieces of burnt broccoli and my husband's Meatloaf with Pinto Beans was hardly big enough to feed a child. (See pictures). We spent $37.00 on this meal and it was no where near worth it!! We will not be going back here for awhile. I hope that they start getting better because they used to be a really good place to eat.

First time at Cracker Barrel..I had a hard time choosing because of the many different choices on their menu. But, I finally chose the Maple Bacon Grilled Chicken with baby carrots and hashbrown casserole. ($10.49 plus tax) See the picture. Customer service is on point. I will definitely go back again.
