Marjae’s Wine and Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Greensboro

Went to hang out at this place after dinner with a group of friends. We saw it on TikTok so I decided to give it a try. The ambience was nice and inviting and there were nice photo ops. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. We decided to sit outside since it was nice out but unfortunately the fire pit tables weren’t prepared for us to light them when it got a little cooler. I think that would have set the tone even more! Overall, we had a great time, but my reason for four stars instead of five is that my drink was pretty much virgin if not 100% virgin. I stated this to two of the waitresses and again at check out but nothing was done about it. I’m not a big drinker but I expected a slight buzz. I’m paying $14 for a drink. I got absolutely nothing I almost wonder if the bartender forgot to put the alcohol in the drink. I’m not one to ask for refunds or complain because I was there to support a black owned business and have a fun night but I was close since it wasn’t offered . The waitress advertised this drink as being “on fire”, when it came out with a nice smell, but the flame was all of .5 seconds. Let’s start from top to bottom. Before entering in there was no available sitting so we stood outside until there was. Finally as we had the chance to be seated at the bar it took 15 mins for anyone to greet us. As we scanned the menu I noticed that the maker of the wine wasn’t listen (THAT’S A BIG NO NO.) When asking the waitress about the make of the Cabernet wine, she was completely clueless on what I asked. Researching the wine I learned that the $10 glass listed came from a $12 dollar bottle of wine. (RIDICULOUS)

Also no waitress acknowledged that I was even sitting with my date. Very unbecoming of the service.

Music was extremely loud I had to scream to have a conversation or even speak.

Further more I had the urge to use the restroom, also noticed the Men’s restroom was “not in use” so I held it. Returning to the front I glanced over and seen the dirty glasses and dishes start to accumulate. At this point the night was over!

If you are a certain caliber of person as well as wine enthusiast Do Not Go Here! Small and unrefined.

As cute as this place was, we were super disappointed in the experience. We went on the R&B Sunday event for the $1 mimosa special and the crowd was fairly light however the service was exceptionally poor. They seemed to be understaffed so we were quite understanding. Our server would come by every 40 minutes to see if we were okay, we would request drinks, and she'd say she needed to make other drinks before getting our order. What was the point of stopping to ask? Both of our drinks were incredibly watered down (Lavendar LemonDrops) and we tasted NO alcohol. A woman who appeared to be a manager asked us how our drinks were and when we expressed opinions about the taste, she said "Keep drinking it" and walked away. Just a lack of customer care/service. I think the snack options of the menu could be better presented as well. I didn't know ordering cheese & crackers was going to get me a small packet of babybel cheese and small crackers...I just expected and...
