Old Town Draught House — Restaurant in Greensboro

Came in on Saturday around 5pm with my mother for dinner. I have always liked this restaurant, and came here several times with my father in years past. Always had great food and good service. Tonight was NOT the case. Ordered a Patty melt and a wrap with fries for side. When food came [reasonable time]. The patty melt was pretty rare inside [ok for steak, not ground beef]. I took it back to the young lady at the bar and asked if she could have the cook put it back on the grill for just a little bit longer until not pink inside. She took it, handed in to the cook, she told him what we wanted. He inspected the patty and took it away[I assumed to cook it more]. About 5 minutes later the person behind the bar set the food basket on the bar adjacent to our table and walked away. My mom got up and retrieved it. We thought great, now we can enjoy our dinner. My mom cut the hamburger open in a new spot from where she had before. It looked EXACTLY like it did when I brought it back to them in the first place. The cheese the burger was sitting on, had not been disturbed at all, it had never been taken off the bun or out of the serving basket. They literally held on to it for a few minutes and sent out the same exact burger completely untouched. Mom didn't want to make a fuss so she picked around the sandwich and ate the bread and cheese. Absolutely shameful, I realize we didn't have the biggest order but we deserved to have our food prepared in a proper manner. The restaurant was not even very busy, they had time to get it right. On a positive note the tea was good and the fries were good. The wrap was okay at best. Was the Kikn chicken spicy wrap. I love spicy food I swear I do. It was overly spicy to the point of being sort of bitter and almost uneatable. But I don't even really care about that. I am just really trying to figure out why they felt it was okay to be so flippant about the quality of the food they were serving. The picture I am attaching is what the burger looked like after sending it back to be cooked more. Which actually is how it looked in the first place, hence this rant. A great way to enjoy craft beer in the UNCG area! Fabulous beer menu with something for everyone’s taste! And you won’t be disappointed with the food either!

My family and I were passing by Greensboro and stopped in to the Old Draught House for a late dinner. The location is on the edge of campus and the neighborhood is charming! A lively crowd was in the pub, but there was plenty of table space and we were given a friendly greeting by the wait staff.

The only problem we encountered was to decide among the numerous beer offerings. As we were traveling on to Raleigh, we elected a session IPA. Very refreshing!

We then considered the food menu and were presented with the pleasant chore of deciding between the great food choices. I went with the pulled pork with potato salad. This pared very nicely with the IPA.

Went today and the waitress was very rude. I ordered wings crispy so did my coworker ( if I can stick my finger through the skin it’s not crispy). She didn’t come to refill our drinks ! You shouldnt argue or fuss with the customer about how they ordered they wings! Also she tried to smart and funny when I spoke to the manager about the situation. On top of me goin back to the college and a worker in Starbucks asking if I eaten in the at old town and stated yes and I told her about my experience and showed her my wings ( because I couldn’t eat them cause they wasn’t done enough) and her reply is “ that is not crispy “ but then goes to say they have good food but the waitress with glasses is very rude!!!
