It had always been my goal in life to be one of those cool people who hung out at local coffee shops all day and made friends with their barista. I started going to a shop downtown one day and met one of the nicest, most wholesome people with a so-bad-it's-funny sense of humor running the bar, MM. I followed him when he moved to a new location...and then again when he moved to Bridge. Best decision I could have ever made! Bridge is such a welcoming environment - everyone there was just as welcoming as MM and treated me so kindly since the moment I walked in. One of my favorite parts about Bridge is their openness; the owners are regularly there chatting with customers, the coffee is roasted by another kind soul (and dope artist) right past the bar, and cheery faces are excited to answer any questions about coffee you might have. Before, I assumed "specialty" coffee just meant fancy coffee but I have come to learn that it means amazing people serving amazingly unique and flavorful drinks. MM and the other people at Bridge (you know who you are :) ) have been so kind and supportive through good times and bad, there to laugh with me or give a supportive hug. I feel so loved when I walk through the door and am greeted by the sweetest person yelling my name and giving me a hug. It's people like MM and the Bridge fam and places like Bridge that made leaving Greenville so hard and returning so sweet. :) Thanks guys, love you
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: I appreciate the response from Bridge City. I would ordinarily have gone back after having some sips to let you know but I had to get to an appointment so I didnāt have time. I guess I am not the typical coffee connoisseur the sips espressos and cappuccinos and can discern different flavors like that. I do like milk and syrup in my coffee and I do one large cup a day. Everyone has their different tastes and that is why there are many types of places to choose from. This one just isnāt my ācup of teaā. Much success TL you with your regulars that enjoy it. š
I am really shocked at the reviews on this page after trying their coffee for the first time today (drive thru). I donāt usually do reviews, but after that cup, I have to. First, I was shocked at how small their large was. For very close to the same price I pay at the other coffee shops I go to, their large is a little more than half of the size of the other larges for right around the same price. Second, when I took my first sips I could not taste any vanilla syrup at all. It was just bitter coffee. And not even good coffee. I couldnāt even finish it. I had to drive to another coffee shop in town to buy another cup there so I could get my one cup a day I drink. I am sorry but I wonāt be coming back. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt started with the location on Wade Hampton, a great spot but often too busy to sit and enjoy, but great for take and go. We always are excited to see you at the Travelers Rest Farmers Markets, and now we are so happy to have the physical location in Travelers Rest! We frequent this spot before and/or after our bike commutes to school. It is a sweet spot to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and talk, check emails, whatever!
