UPDATE: Unfortunately, I am having to update my review based on our most recent visit. Two people in our party ordered and paid for tea. At 20 minutes to close, as we were finishing up our meal, they ran out of tea. We wanted to get a refill, so we asked the staff. They said they would not be making any more tea since they close in 20 minutes. In my opinion, and having worked in the restaurant industry, if someone has paid for tea with free refills, it should be available until their closing time. There were still at least 5 other tables in the restaurant when we left. I asked if they could do anything for us since we paid for it expecting to be able to get a refill and they said we could get a soda, but not without a rude attitude. I love the food here, and usually we get great service, but today we didn't.
I am so glad that this location is open and available on Saturdays! We always enjoyed the other location, but weren't able to eat there much because of their hours. The building is clean and very nifty inside. The staff are helpful and friendly, as always. The food was delivered quickly and was delicious. The cinnamon roll was HUGE and quite possibly the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. I do wish they had a fountain drink machine (you can purchase cans) but the sweet tea was good. We will...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a dining experience that truly stands out, look no further than this exceptional restaurant on Wade Hampton Blvd in Greenville, SC. I recently indulged in their Southern breakfast, and it was an unforgettable culinary experience. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the sausage had a rich, flavorful kick, and the potatoes were a delightful balance of crispy and tender, seasoned to perfection. The flavors were out of this world, making every bite a pleasure.
But the appeal of this place doesn’t end with the food. Whether you stop by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the quality remains consistently high, making it a go-to spot for any meal of the day. What adds an extra layer of charm to this already fantastic restaurant is the ambiance. The walls are adorned with stunning artwork created by talented students from Wade Hampton High School, Eastside High School, and Bob Jones University. Not only does this add to the visual appeal, but it also gives diners the opportunity to purchase these pieces and support local young artists.
In short, this restaurant offers a complete experience—delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a celebration of local talent. Highly recommended for anyone in the...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Sunflower this past Saturday at approximately 10:30 AM. We both opted for the Sausage, Egg & Cheese on a brioche bun. Despite a modest line, the ordering process was efficient, taking only about 5 minutes. Our meals were served shortly after we were seated, within another 5-minute window.
On the positive side, the presentation was impeccable. The brioche bun was baked to perfection, and the sauce provided a sweet and herbaceous touch. The sautéed onions were a generous addition.
However, there were some areas for improvement. The sauce's sweetness was excessive, detracting from the overall balance of flavors. The egg lacked seasoning and was awkwardly proportioned, making the sandwich difficult to consume. Most disappointingly, the sausage was unmemorable, lacking any distinctive flavor.
In summary, Sunflower offers good value and shows significant potential. Despite some culinary missteps, I find it worth another visit to explore more of what the establishment...
