Excellent, flavorful, high quality food! Casual atmosphere, friendly staff. Really a triple threat! For a place where every entree is in a bowl they have a wide variety of dishes. Spring rolls work in soup. Don't think too hard about it, just go with it! And they are fresh spring rolls! In fact, everything is fresh. The raw veggies are crunchy, and a nice contrast to the soft, stretchy noodles. The flavors are balanced and bright. The whole menu is a joy - right down to the drinks! You could go for more familiar beverages like sweet tea and Coke or you could have iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk or bubble tea or something called Salt Lemon (which had us giggling about a gag in an episode of Invader Zim). If you've never had PhĂł just get over any anxiety you may have and go for it! Pick a protein and then just pick a number in that group. It's that easy to get something wonderful without even reading the menu. Skip Chili's or Carolina Ale House this week-get a more delicious meal, save some money and avoid...

Great little restaurant. Food is always outstanding and the service is on point. I was a little apprehensive about their price changes and it seems that the price changes with the wind or their mood. I'm disappointed about the menus and prices not always matching which can throw you off as others have mentioned on here.

If you want great Pho and vermicelli bowls, this is your place. The meats seem to be on point and their sauces have always got right where they need to be.

I wouldn't say it's the most cleanly of restaurants, but I guess you get an A for authenticity since most Vietnamese restaurants aren't really known for the white glove effect.

Don't hesitate to try their bobas (my kids favorite, especially the toro), and their appetizers are great too.

As with most ethnic cuisines, the ethnicity of the restaurant and the patrons of the same country/race/origin eating there pretty much tell you that it's rather close to authentic.

I can't say anything bad about the...

Updating my review, recently went to the restaurant again and thankfully they hired new service staff, they were all very nice and welcoming, and the food was delicious, i'm very glad to see them making changes. Now I only wish they'd offer a larger plate of pho, they kept low prices according to the small portions which is excellent in the current climate, but the option for an upgrade would be nice.

4 years ago:

The waiter makes you feel very unwelcome as soon as you open the door, he is always in bad mood specially when the restaurant is empty. He is so rude he was telling customers "I don't have time" in a very rude way and kept walking, he never looked their faces or made eye contact, very uneducated young guy, when they asked for their drinks, they waited a long time for the drinks and he never apologized for anything. My kids Pho was poor no meat and just a Âź of a meatball it's insulting. DONT...

OK GUYS HEAR ME OUT. The food is average but the service is so POOR and the menu is a SCAM! I wanted to try seafood pho because I saw they have squid in it. However, I didn’t find any squid in my noodle. Double checked the menu and asked the server. The server told me “some customers don’t want squid in it so we don’t put squid in it anymore.” I told her I ordered it because I saw there’s squid in it so can I actually get some squid? She went back to the kitchen and came back telling me “we just don’t have squid anymore.” HELLO EXCUSE ME THAT’S WHAT IT SAYS ON YOUR MENU AND THAT’S WHAT MAKES IT MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE REGULAR PHO! I then asked her “that’s it?”.The server replied back with a tone as if she couldn’t care less “that’s it.” The food is total frustration, let alone the server being totally inattentive and the SCAM MENU!

This small restaurant has big surprises. My first experience with Vietnamese cuisine will not be my last. They offer a large selection of soups, mostly soups, served with fresh bean sprouts and mint on the side. A lot of bean sprouts and mint. The idea is to eat this soup with chop sticks and a traditional spoon, one for the meat and noodles, the spoon for the broth. I opted for a fork and spoon. This did not, however, interfere with the flavor. Friendly and energetic staff, crowded dining room, happy diners, and simple decor blend into Pho 99. Try it.

Contrary to their name, Pho 99's niche within Greenville's Vietnamese food community is actually their rice platters and bun bo hue. If you care for it, they're also one of the more authentic Vietnamese restaurant in town as well. They answer the phone well and the food comes out quickly. In addition to my dine-in order I got three bun bo hues to go. They place the soup containers in a box and stack the noodle and toppings containers on top of it. I had to deal with 0 spills in my car, which is rare for liquid meals like that.
