Horrible! For the second time in two years I have been harassed by guests here while eating with my mother and 5 year old daughter. Today I was having lunch my mother discussing her business affairs that we are wrapping up due to her dementia. These two psychopathic busy bodies at a table across from us begin harassing us... accusing me of abusing my mother. As I politely asked them to mind their own business, they begin to get loud and belligerent. Mind you no one was saying anything inappropriate in OUR convo... just having a business conversation. The manager PAT asks them not to speak to us yet they continue on harassing us... going so far as to CALL THE COPS and VIDEO US EATING AND VIDEOING MY CHILD. This crazy woman begins telling guests coming in the restaurant that I was practically beating my mother. I have never been worried for the safety of my mother and child as I have today. These people were absolute PSYCHOS...The manager did NOTHING to protect us from this harassment! After eating at this location for 20 years we will never be back! Two years back, after parking in the only open spot in their terribly small lot, a lady who was parked ON THE LINE beside me couldn't get into her car and called the police on me... Greenville city police came and harassed me publicly hovering over my family as I finished eating. As I had done nothing other than PARK NEXT TO SOMEONE WHO COULDN'T PARK, I had done nothing wrong I let police stand there looking dumb... They even agreed that I had every right to finish my meal as I had done nothing wrong or broken any laws. Pat was the manager that day too and should have asked the irate guest who had parked ON THE LINE and couldn't get into her car to leave the store as this person WAS causing a disturbance of the peace (that IS a crime btw). But since my truck was perfectly between the lines I had no motivation to move my truck until I was finished eating. This place has problems and needs to be able to provide a peaceful dining experience... but the manager allows this sort of harassment to go on. Read moreI visited the IHOP at 915 Wade Hampton Blvd this past weekend. Was my birthday and I wanted IHOP. Sure glad I came to this location. I ordered, a combo special: 2 pancakes, eggs, and bacon. It seemed like all we did was blink and our food was at our table, hot and actually beautifully plated. Not like any IHOP I've ever been to. And, it was delicious. The pancakes fluffy and piping hot, butter melting as our server, Pat sat it in front of me. Eggs perfectly cooked, scrambled, yet they were fluffy, too. Bacon cooked too perfection. And then, there was Pat. She was the person who greeted us with a smile at the door and turned out to be our server. What a hoot she was! She has us laughing out loud. She went above and beyond taking care of us. Since we started cutting up with her, she just naturally played along. My friend and I talked about her after we left. She was spot on with her service. It seemed like I thought " I need more soda" and, as if she read my mind, she appeared with a refill. She's a credit to the restaurant. I live 20 minutes from this IHOP location, and there is an IHOP less than a mile from my house. This location was a good halfway spot to meet my friend at. Think in the future, I'll drive the extra minutes to go back to this IHOP. For a chain restaurant, this one had that something EXTRA that makes me want to come back. Read moreThis review was originally going to be -0, but then things changed. We got there and it was super busy, not unusual for a Sunday morning. You expect to have a wait for a table, no problem, got seated. Clock starts at this point.........waitress #1: took literally 10 minutes to come get DRINK order. Another 10 to come take food order. Never came back to refill coffee or check on us...had to stop her to ask for everything we needed.... finally came back for food order. 45 min later still no food, I went to ask where the food was and was told it was in the window and she was going to get it. ANOTHER 10 MINUTES later, guess what.....still NO FOOD. I lost it!!!! MANAGER PLEASE!!!! Manager: "How may I help you?, What can I do to make this right? You're absolutely right, this shouldn't have happened."
In the end, she ended up comping the entire bill (not expected), remaking the cold food and gave the most attentive service from that point on.
I don't normally give reviews even if the service isn't great, but I felt that this experience deserved to be shared.
In a world where customer service has fallen so far to the wayside, it's such a PLEASURE to go to a restaurant where they'll "Make it Right". It's truly refreshing.
