It's very rare to find a cafe where the atmosphere and the drinks are of equal quality. I've been to many cafes before and the general problem that I run into is that a lot of cafes can be aesthetically pleasing but lack quality drinks which makes it difficult to commit your time to do college work, studying, or other such activities. Fortunately, Fresh Grounds is fairly big for a cafe and it has an art gallery upstairs with art made from locals within the area (which gets swapped out with new art every couple of weeks). This makes it very easy to stay at Fresh Grounds for an unexpectedly long amount of time, due to the fact that the set-up promotes one to get up and explore the cafe if they have become tired of sitting in one spot for too long.
The other great thing about Fresh Grounds is that everyone who works there wants to be there due to the fact that a good number of the workers there are actually volunteers. The people who work at Fresh Grounds want to work there because they enjoy the atmosphere and the experience, not because they were forced to and the people who work there full-time are constantly working on projects to improve Fresh Grounds and make it even better. This is a lot different than other cafes I've been to where a lot of the employees are usually either overworked or highly stressed out, but not so with Fresh Grounds.
I would highly recommend going to Fresh Grounds Coffee House if one were to stop by in Greenville, PA for a short amount of time. It's a great place to get high-quality drinks, relax, and...
Read moreI don't go to Greenville often and was suggested this place. It was very nice and relaxing inside. Although there customer service could use some work. My company that day was my emotion support service dog(in training) When I initially walked in I wasn't greeted nicely. The "manager" was in the phone and stopped talking only to ask if my dog was a service, I said yes. She continued to say that she wasn't sure of the restaurant policy. I quickly got annoyed because no further questions should be presented after I informed her she was a service dog. I did inform her it was legal for her to be here and illegal for them to ask me to leave. My dog was doing nothing wrong. During the time of conversation she ordered around the younger barista who was very kind. The manager wanted to the barista to ask the owner if it was okay. I repeated the same statement before. And the barista didn't seem worried and offer me drink selection, she was very kind and helpful. During my stay others came and were very polite asked to pet my dog, I allowed because she was overwhelmed, please keep in mind she is still in training. A women was there waiting to talk to the manager who was still on the phone. Even when I left the women I was talking to (customers) told me to have a nice day while the manager watched me walk out while she was still on the phone. Otherwise, there coffee is very good and the Batista is awesome! The manager...
Read moreBest place for miles to get a great coffee or latte. Staff was a little underwhelming with knowledge and skill but it is still a fantastic place overall. Love the environment. Edit: after going there for a while, I noticed several issues. Cobwebs in corners, seats were worn in and look like they haven't been cleaned in a while. Bob was rude and should not be working the register if he don't have people skills or good hearing. He had no idea what anything I ordered was. I will be finding a new café unfortunately. The drinks weren't too bad but this place has gone downhill a bit from when I first went. 2nd edit: I waited a while before heading back but I am currently sitting here in freshgrounds and big Jim was polite and funny. Suzy and staff was a joy to be around and they made the drinks very good. I still have a bit of an issue with the worn-in seats but the cobwebs are now gone and everything was really nice. Bumping back up...
