I'm a Dutch Bros fan even though I don't go often. I'm NOT a Starbucks person even though there are a couple, very select specialty coffees that I've found that I can drink from there. This (Huey's) was comparable to neither of those 2 places. I'd seen very mixed reviews on Huey's but told my son that he could get it if he really was curious about trying it. He got something neither of us thought that they could mess up...an iced Chai with a shot of espresso. It was awful...so sickeningly sweet that even my 20yo son had trouble choking it down, and I seriously regretted the one, tiny sip of his that I took to try it since I wasn't brave enough to order anything for myself after the reviews that I had seen. We will not be back. So...I know that there are Starbucks people, there are Dutch Bros people, and I'm sure that there are probably Huey's people as well...to each their own! However, if you're not yet familiar with Huey's, just don't go here with expectations of something on par with Starbucks or Dutch Bros. Oh...and price-wise...we paid $7+ for one drink...that was the only thing on par with the other 2...
Read moreEdit: I did go back and try again. The manager was super nice and went out of her way to talk to me and is very receptive. I did get the Chai and it was very good. I really appreciate the out of the way cause, again, asking for hot tea items in Texas I know is like asking for the English to make a good cold sweet tea.
I would like to begin with the people were very nice. And also, I'm a snob of hot tea so, coffee is their specialty. I always know it's a risk when it comes to hot tea at coffee places especially in Texas. I ordered a London Fog Latte. It was not good. I'm fairly certain they did not steep the tea before adding the milk so it just tasted like watered down milk with a teabag dunked in. London fog lattes take a little bit of practice. And in Their defense I was probably the first one to order one. So if you're a hot tea fan, maybe try their iced tea instead. I read a review that said their Chai was nice. If I get the urge I'll go back and give that one a shot. And if you like coffee the place was poppin so I'm sure it's...
Read moreBeen going since opening day, I waited a while to review, and we absolutely love it. We keep going back, the service is amazing and they are so nice all the time. However you wanna know about the coffee! It's sooooo good. It's actually smooth, the other big name coffee brand in town (we all know them by their green color lol) you have order it double blended in order to get it kinda smooth, at Hueys you don't have to do that, it's just outright smooth and creamy! Also they have the most extensive sugar free section I've seen to date, which me and my honey order and it's also spot on, no odd taste, not grainy not powdery, it's freaking awesome. Hueys is also the ONLY spot that carries heavy cream between her in town and past Rockwall, that's a HUGE PLUS in my book! We will keep going back, and are officially regulars of theirs. 10/10 (Prices are standard coffee shop prices you're gonna pay 10 bucks for a late don't be mad about the price when you can literally watch them bring in actual...
