My family and I have been here many times, have brought friends, and have bragged to many people about the food. I have always had really good food and we all enjoy the chips and salsa. My husband had really good nachos the first time and has tried to get the same ones every time after. They have NEVER been good after that first time. Tonight, they were inedible. The chips were really chewy and had pools of grease on them. He calmly told our waiter, Saul that they were not good and that he didn’t want them. Saul said okay, took the plate, and walked away. He didn’t apologize or ask him if there was something else that he wanted. My husband sat and waited for me and our kids to finish our meal. During this time, we bussed our own table, poured our own salsa, and had no drink refills. Then, my husband had to get up to request the check and a to-go box due to the lack of service.

My husband wrote “Have had great food in the past. Nachos were inedible (super hard and chewy).” on the bottom of the receipt. He was about to finish with “I would have been happy to order something else.” but before he could finish, Saul approached him and said “Hey, you can keep that. I’m just going to trash it anyway.” I was appalled that he would talk to my husband like that! Despite our terrible food and service, we were calm and respectful the whole time.

My husband went to the bar to ask for the manager and was directed to the owner, Ernesto. He told Ernesto about our experience and was met with a nonchalant, “I’ll make sure you don’t get him next time y’all are here.” Needless to say that we WILL...

This place was average. The food was ok, the service was ok, the atmosphere was ok. If they improved a few things, it could be a really nice place to eat. We ate at Rancho Viejo also while in the area and it was far better.

The restaurant needs more decorations and nice music to create a nice atmosphere; plants, artwork, and Mexican themed decorations. And with the name, there should be a live mariachi playing on weekends! Or at least mariachi music.

The service and staff management needs to be streamlined and work like a machine - customer is seated, chips and salsa served right away & drink orders taken, food should be brought out all at once, not piecemeal every 5 minutes as the chef prepares each plate, waitress needs to remember things better or write them down and she needs to be more attentive. We saw 5 or 6 employees just sitting around doing nothing for long periods while our waitress cleaned a table, did chores, and neglected us.

The food needs to be quality controlled better. It needs more flavor and spice - it's Mexican! Make sure the jalapeños are spicy - we ordered grilled jalapeños and they had zero flavor or spice (poor quality peppers), which was a waste. Make sure your salsa has plenty of flavor. And automatically give the customer a knife for dishes that need a knife! All of this was lacking here. I will say, the carnitas were near perfection! But the rest of the food was average.

With a little work and improvement, this will be a very nice...

The good, I ordered the beef enchilada dinner with queso on top, a side of guacamole and a side of queso. The meat was seasoned perfectly, the shell was nice and soft, and the rice was cooked correctly however it had peas in it which I thought was strange but tasted great.

The bad, the queso was watered down to a point that every chip left a trail from the bowl to my shirt and was too watered down to enjoy on the enchiladas. The guacamole was just bad it had almost no flavor and had an odd oily sheen to it. Lastly, the beans were very bland which was surprising since the meat and rice were seasoned so well.

The service was fine my waitress was quick to refill all of our empty glasses. She did seem rushed to get our order but this was in the middle of lunch rush so it was excusable. The only true negative was that midway through the meal we ran out of chips and they were never refilled.

Overall Mariachi was fine nothing special, nothing disgusting, but in a city, with multiple Tex-Mex restaurants, I've found myself wondering why I would ever settle for just OK. I hope they improve because they are right on the cusp of fantastic.

If 2.5 out of 5 was an option it would have been more...

We got tacos! The server recommend tacos; they were tasty and authentic. The server was friendly, the restaurant mostly clean and the food was good. If you like spicy salsa you can request the green salsa for an extra kick to your chips and meal. They have Mexican beer and Topo Chico! The menu is extensive, hence why I asked for a recommendation. The guacamole was a little different; they may add sour cream to make it stretch farther, but the price point was appropriate. Table side guac is different and about twice as much. (Please give me a thumbs up if you found this review helpful.)

Good Mexican food at reasonable prices. They had some mixed drinks that looked absolutely delicious, but we did not try them. I had the chicken enchiladas with Verde sauce and there was ample chicken, cheese and sauce on them. The rice was fluffy and flavorful. The beans did not have any cheese on them, which most places do add cheese. The chips and salsa were average. I imagine this restaurant gets very busy later in the day, judging by the crowd before noon on a Sunday. They also serve breakfast on weekends.

We had a late lunch today at El Mariachi and it was fantastic! We’ve been a few times before but it’s been a while since our last visit. The food was always good. But it seemed even better. It was great. Today we had two house margaritas, one chili relleno plate and a combo enchilada plate. All fantastic. I don’t remember the big square plates but they made the plating extra nice. The waitress was just incredible. I wish I knew her name. So sweet, friendly and attentive. We will definitely now visit more.
