I'mma be 100 with you my gs, these lads are so mid, it's not even funny. For an Indian restaurant in a smaller town, they'd be fine. But Greenville is blessed with several Indian restaurants that deprecate this one. Tldr you got better options in Greenville.
Price: They are priced around the same as every other Indian restaurant. In this regard, they are competitive.
Serving Size: It's much smaller than other places, at least for lunch. Compared to the two restaurants on Woodruff, they also do not offer all you can eat rice, which itself would be an issue but the rice portion is lacking for a curry meal.
Service: The first time I went here with a friend and we didn't see any servers even though it was just us and another person. It wasn't until we were already done with our my that our gestures finally got anyone's attention. The second time, who I presume to be the owner and his wife served me. They were a lot better.
Presentation: The tablecloth for my table had stains which they tried to cover up using a paper towel. For the lamb saag, they don't blanch the spinach so I was given a brown dish rather than a green one. This is pedantic in a home cook setting. But if I'm paying to go to a restaurant for this much I expect something like that.
Food: Here's the saddest part of it all, the food for the most part actually tastes good. Which makes all these other shortcomings so much more frustrating. Their papad w/onion chutney is honestly my favorite among the Indian places, but papad and chutney does not make a meal. Their saag was good. The rice was nice for what existed, though they cook it much differently from how everyone else cooks rice. It seems to be boiled, rather than steamed. This leads to another oddity, their naan was disappointing. Its texture was like I was eating bread and when asking the owner if it should be so chewy(read glutenous) he was like yeah that's normal. I'm here to tell you that it shouldn't be normal.
I was honestly so bothered by my whole experience here that I forgot to take pictures to post alongside...
Read moreI’ve been to this restaurant countless times. It’s unfortunate that they have the best Indian food in Greenville because the service is terrible every time. It’s typical to not be greeted or have your drink order taken for quite a while after being sat. Don’t expect your server to come back to the table to check on you. The wait staff is not particularly friendly either. I waited tables for years so I try to be understanding but my last experience was so bad I will not dine in there again. I came in with a friend for dinner while the restaurant was slow. It took 10+ minutes for someone to come greet our table and take our drink order. I tried to save the server an extra trip and speed things up by telling him he could take our food order too. He just walked away instead. I would understand if we had a big group and he was super busy but there were two of us. We had been in the restaurant for quite a while when we finally did get our order in. Only my friend’s food came out. Someone else dropped it off in a hurry and walked away without asking how everything looked. Our server walked past our table several times and never checked on us or refilled drinks. Probably 15 minutes went by and my food was nowhere to be found so by that point, my friend’s meal was cold. I finally decided to get up and say something. My server tried to tell me I never ordered anything and we barely received an apology. I was so fed up and hungry by that point I declined to wait even longer for them to put in a to-go order. My friend paid for her meal and we immediately left. The food really is delicious so I recommend only...

I hadn't been to this place in years since I moved away. I brought my boyfriend at the time, raving about the food.
I will save all of you the details, but both the ex and myself were so grossed out by our observations of the state of the restaurant and the sounds coming from the kitchen that we left empty-handed, genuinely afraid we would get sick from eating the food.
Then!!!! The OWNER called my cell phone (I had originally called to place the order for pick up from my cell) asking why we left without paying!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my God.
We didn't get any food AND WE EXPLAINED sincerely as kindly as humanly possible why we just couldn't eat anything coming from that kitchen to the waiter but the OWNER HAD TO PERSONALLY CALL US TO ASK WHY WE DIDN'T PAY! TODAY my bestie mentioned India Palace. She said she and her cousin who hasn't been there in nearly 6 years went about a month ago. Bestie didn't eat because she also felt uncomfortable and while there remembered me telling her my most recent trip there with the ex, but the cousin ate. And she said the quality and quantity suffered but the price went up considerably. Within an hour, the cousin complained her stomach was really not feeling good. No vomiting or anything like that, but they both said they'll never go back, either.
Original post: Best Indian food in the area for sure. I've tried three quarters of the menu and have never been disappointed. The wait staff doesn't speak any English: water, to go box, more rice. You'd think they would know at least the basics but no. Luckily, getting food to go is...
