Attending Camelot Cinemas is akin to going back in time to when low quality was the only cinematic experience offered. The theater's 3D presentation is darkly lit, poorly designed to the layout and overall a rip off which makes you want to go elsewhere. The staff are not practitioners of Southern Charm but rude forgetting they are running a business as there is a way to communicate to the ticket holder without being rude as my husband experienced.
If you have arthritis this theater is not for you as the seats are lower than the management's bar for customer service. In fact expect to have a really intense pain in your back and legs trying to crawl out of the seats which seem like dollar theater seats not full price theaters. The 90's are calling and the seats have shared arm rests so expect to constantly be bumping into the individual next to you. What is worse is how low the toilets are which almost requires someone to help you as if you just had gallbladder surgery and cannot get off the toilet. After pulling my sciatica I felt like I was 82, not 41. I gave the 1 star rating based off the bathroom being clean which was the only good observation to be made.
I am not sure what is so difficult to follow when asked about butter or no butter but even that answer when asked was lost in communication. There were so many unopposed kernels in my x-large popcorn I could have ended up with a kids popcorn bag. Nothing like stale popcorn to go with a dimly lit movie with very uncomfortable 3D glasses. Top quality is not what the theater is known for hence the fact no one was in the theater besides my husband who also walked away with the same sentiment that we will stick to Regal.
Go anywhere else in Greenville for a better experience or wait for a film to be released to stream otherwise you will end up waiting to get home to go to...
Read moreSince this is the only theater in Greenville open right now it gets way more credit than the closed theaters. That being said, it was still a bit pricey but with no competition I guess they can charge what they want. The food items we purchased were expensive and terrible. Popcorn was cold, the cheese for the nachos was so terrible you could not eat it, which is actually the cheese brands fault not the theaters but it was really bad. The movie experience itself was ok, a smaller theater but not over crowded. There were some teenage boys talking and playing on their phones for nearly half the movie making it hard to pay attention. They were literally playing you tube videos and talking on speaker phone for everyone in the theater to hear. I felt like had anyone from the theater staff been paying attention or monitoring the theater someone would have definately approached the boys and dealt with the nusiance and their blatant disregard for the other patrons but nobody did so finally another movie goer in our theater went down and asked them could they please keep it down. That should not of been the paying customers job. We were all grateful for it though, as then the boys left for a little bit but were quieter when they returned. To sum it all up Camelot Theaters is still a good place to see a movie if you miss going...
Read moreTicket prices are usually high, but I assumed on a Monday evening that a 20 dollar bill would get my fiancé and I a movie ticket a piece, I was mistaken. Then I mistakenly went to the concession stand, and saw the dip'n'dots bowl showing the size. I pointed to the menu and asked "where are the dip'n'dots"? To which the employee said sarcastically "where are the dip'n'dots? Uh, they're behind me". Don't plan to show up early and expect any form of post 1996 entertainment, the Galaga arcade machine is about all you'll get. On top of that being an early patron will see you sitting on a park bench in a small lobby with obnoxiously loud elevator music, because you aren't allowed to go in until 10 minutes before the movie starts. The seating in the actual theater is terrible, with most of the seats on a flat area, and the inclined seats are almost too far away from the screen to get an applicable theater experience, and the stench was wretched. If they're going to keep you out of the theater for 30 minutes before the movie starts for cleaning, then it should smell better than this.
If I could rate it a -7 out of 10 then I would...
