Liberty Cafe — Restaurant in Greenville

Not the type to review places, but boyyyyyyyy let me tell you...I appreciate GOOD FOOD and this was my first time trying this place and we ordered fried mushrooms, egg roll, Philly w/wedges, plus the grouper w/ veggies and rice...called in at 2:54am, food was at the door right at 3:30 ..it was HOT and excellent. And to think I almost didn't try it out bc of the messed up reviews on here. And on top of everything else, the food was seasoned BEAUTIFULLY! Which seems simple but it's something I most definitely appreciate done right or even at all which for some reason certain establishments still struggle with. The delivery driver was chill...not trying to be funny but a lot of delivery drivers are mad sketchy and look like over grown a%% school shooter types (which honestly is quite off putting) that look scared to be in my neighborhood close to Washington st, even though virtually every street surrounding mine is now rebuilt and renovated to suit a middle to upper middle class white society because downtown has grown so much they decided to claim whole neighborhoods in order to accommodate 20 and 30 something white professional couples who want nice houses in a "trendy" neighborhood...can you say GENTRIFICATION. But then again, that's neither here nor there... .One more point to make...LATE NIGHT DELIVERY!!! If they can keep their costs in check and are consistent with serving up the level of quality and speed of service like I received, that's a million dollar business model right there. I wholeheartedly agree with those that will find this review excessive in nature, but the moral of the story is.....great...

My daughter and I decided to try this place. Wanted a meat, and 3. The place is small but it's clean. Waitress was new, friendly, went and got manager to answer my questions she didn't know, kept our tea filled, and was talkative. The bathroom was clean for the age of it, no paper on the floor and the sink and toilet were clean. As far as the food is concerned,it's a HUGE menu within ALOT of stuff. It was all cooked to order, so we had a little bit of a wait, but it was all HOT when it came to the table. Hamburger steak was a real pattied hamburger seasoned. Brown gravy was right, consistency, and grilled onions were not too soft. The fries are crinkle cut, but they are seasoned. The roll was a little too over cooked but, they have land o lakes butter, which is a game changer for me. The fried chicken was fresh and appeared to be seasoned with salt and pepper. The skin was crisp, and the breast was connected to the wing. The potato salad is HOMEMADE. DOES NOT HAVE EGG. Which I thought was interesting, but it tasted pretty good for a non-traditional potato salad. The steamed veggies were the only downside. They were steamed but had NO seasoning at all. No butter, no nothing. And they were a little overcooked. So they were rubbery. But, othet than that 1 little thing the meal was good! The meal came with tea. It was 29.56, I think, for both of us to eat. We will be back...

Terrible rude unprofessional employees claimed they weren't taking no more orders and if he did it's going to be an hour and a half wait. I had 2 Uber Eats orders right off they said no orders . Normally from a place like that I've ordered there before for myself would have been well worth the wait great food well worth the money but simply because they were so rude they had other individuals backing them up not sure if they were employees or just waiting customers. Because of that I lost good money off two orders from ubereats and I continuously kept getting order cards for delivery from Liberty Cafe and that was about seven or eight more orders that I had to turn down because of that and it lost me $200 or more don't go there they're rude and just because of that will keep me away and definitely don't go there if you got Uber Eats delivery. The owner should know they cost them good money and me good money and I definitely won't be back because of the way I was treated. You need to fix it quick are you going to go bankrupt because of those employees. Good luck with that I won't be back and should no one else either also to the owner i know for a fact other restaurants doesn't have an awful policy make you leave it was originally take-out everywhere I've been is ready and encouraging to eat in IT'S GOOD FOR BUSINESS... WAKE UP OR GO BANKRUPT.... YOU...
