Not impressed by the place. I had high hopes and it had been on my list for a long time before I got to try it today but won’t be coming back. Food was ok at most. The sushi rice was hard, old. Fishes tastes really good and fresh but that rice took away the entire flavor a fresh roll was supposed to have. Food took forever to come - Sat down at 6:30, placed an order an appetizers came fast at 6:45, then placed main order when she brought the appetizers which only arrived at 7:04 and 07:22 respectively. Almost an hour to eat a “basic” fresh sashimi is kind of a lot when the Restaurant is not busy, with 35-40% of tables being used only at most. Escolar sashimi was still frozen in the middle which was a disappointment but still the best food of the night. Wouldn’t order the tuna tartare again, but if the rice on the sushi was fresh I’d give it a 10/10. Mango roll was delicious. I did order a bit but over $70 for one person for some old sushi and frozen sashimi just won’t do it for me.
Service was not impressive either - if you’re eating solo all the tables are “reserved” and in the over 2 hours I was there nobody used them. Waitress kept trying to take the menus from the table even after I had only placed an order for a drink, and then for an appetizer, I guess people can’t have a full solo meal?! Didn’t come by once to check in on me, only when bringing food then she would ask if things were ok. When I said no she did not do anything either haha I did see the table sitting in the middle with 4 people was having a great service though with...
Read moreWent for special birthday lunch, experienced one of the worst restaurants in Greenville! Service sucked from the beginning, no greeting by the kid in his gym clothes, who led us to our table and kicked untucked chairs in on the way there. Floor had clearly not been swept from night before, bathrooms were grimmy and in need of serious maintenance (broken decor, soap and towel dispensers, out of service commodes, not mopped), and dirty dishes utensils and water jar. Very rushy and rude server even with minimal guests. Ordered a tempura app that oil tasted well past use and not fresh (restaurant was open for an HR), small portion too. Sushi was good, but chicken lol mein was not fresh- chicken was cold and added in just to warm up. Bit our tongues just being patient. Server left dirty plates in front of us while he took forever to bring the tab after asking twice if we needed anything else, so he could have a chatty vulgar conversation with someone buying alcohol to go (umm?). Finally overcharged us with a more expensive item to seal the deal of us never returning. Read other reviews and choose wisely. Absolute dump with so much more potential, shame we wasted our money. At least I didn't get...
Read moreThis was my most favorite restaurant in Greeneville. I've recommended it at least 20 times. I take everyone who comes to visit there. I honestly go there once a month for the past 3 years. Over the past six months its gotten far from the restaurant I've come to love.
On this visit I brought my Mom, who is in love with the Crab Rangoon. The came out cold as if the were left over from the fridge. Ok, things happen. Her main dish looked thrown together. None of the beautiful plates I'm use to. My dish was a compleat wreck. I don't say this lightly but I sware it was a reheated dish that was sent back. I had ordered Kung pow chicken. A dish I love. What I got was chewey, cold in the middle unflavored dish. I've had the Kung pow atleast 15 times. I know this dish well. Not what I got. I could not eat it.
Also it was not busy and the lady keep using the robot for 3 of the 4 tables. A 4th table had 4 well dressed people. She was checking on that table every 10 minutes and the robot never was sent there.
The owners were not there. I truly hope they turn this around. It was the best asain restaurant in Greeneville. Tonight it was a 1 out of 10. It breaks my heart to write...
