Wow. Just wow. Where do I start?
Summary: Worst service and presentation of food in my life. I'm still in shock writing this as its been more than week since this happened. They want to overcharge you and get seriously rude when you try to get a solution! Not only that, the food looks so disgusting I'm surprised we didn't get sick. I'm not sure why this place has good reviews.
My husband and I were starving and I really felt like Tex-Mex. We pulled into the Two Senoritas across the highway but noticed this little restaurant had better reviews so we thought we would give it a try. Boy do we laugh about that now.
Our experience in a nutshell. We were charged for a plate of $9 nachos that we didn't eat because it was so fatty and disgusting with a pound of butter and peppers. I wish I would have taken a picture. We were argued with for politely requesting help! My husband was explaining the situation and the server, or manager, or whoever he said he was, told my husband that he was being rude and needs to communicate better!
Side notes to mention: Chips were delivered to us half empty The menu was very dirty (with hairs on the plastic) We had two servers, both of which never introduced themselves. We were not sure who was the actual server and who was just helping, but we were nice to both of them.
Here is the scoop: The nachos came out, and so did my husband's steak. However, my nachos were like a small pile of chips piled with fatty meat and probably a pound of peppers and it looked like butter was poured all over it. It was ridiculous. Seeing that this was definitely not typical nachos, and I couldn't eat any of this fatty meat without having a heart attack. It was disgusting and very unpleasant.
To sum it up: I wanted something else since I only had a bite of the nachos, and instead of making a switch, I was told that I would pay for both without someone telling me that would be the case before I ordered the tacos.
There's more: The two servers were confusing as they never made an introduction of themselves and we didn't know who we were talking to. Instead of asking me what was wrong with them, they took them away and I asked for something else as I was hungry. Next told to my face with a smile that I would pay for both. Other server said, since I didn't tell him what was wrong, then there was nothing he could do but I should have told him.
That server said that he would get a manager, then out comes the other server who said that there wasn't a manager here, and then finally claimed boldly that he was the manager. UMMM... what? Instead of focusing on our experience as customers, they were focused on throwing insults at us, telling me what I should have said when I sent my food back instead of offering to fix it, and being condescending for a measly little $20 meal.
Needless to say, my husband and I laughed at this, but the management here is seriously lacking. I don't always agree with the customer either, but when your food has too much peppers, not enough chips, and way too much butter (to the point you want to vomit), well they should be providing something different. Not charging for both, throwing insults at you and your husband, and causing me to be fearful as I thought they were going to get into a fight!
Last: The "manager" claimed that he recorded our conversations- I hope they did. But what is this kind of behavior? I have to think that it comes from that we are not from the area and were very well dressed (to go to an event)? We didn't even get to eat our food and we still paid for it.
Please, don't give this business any money or your time. Oh and btw, Two Senoritas is across the hwy!...
Read moreUp until tonight, this has been has been one of our favorites in Greenville. Much of the food has been going down hill for a while, the authentic seems more like canned or frozen, but tonight was the straw that broke the camel's back. We recognize that times are tough right now for many in the service industry, so when I asked my wife this evening where she wanted to eat she specifically said she wanted to support Rancho Viejo. The server was quick to take our drink order, but we had to ask a different server to let our's know that we were ready to place our order 20 minutes after getting our drinks. I had the enchiladas supreme, she ordered grilled chicken quesadilla. Server asked for clarification on the quesadilla, she responded just regular grilled chicken quesadilla. When the the food came out, my dish looked and tasted like it came right out of a TV Dinner tray. Her quesadilla at first glance was a huge appetizing creation, but as she dug into it, it looked more like they threw the leftovers from making chicken fajitas on a huge tortilla, folded it over, toasted it and served. It was a big soggy mess. She had never had the quesadillas here, so she didn't question it. When the check came, we realized that the server took it upon himself to upgrade her grilled chicken quesadilla to the fajita quesadilla which was not what she asked for and cost about $5 more. When she confronted him, he denied any wrong doing, insisted that this is what she ordered. I wasn't too concerned because I knew the owner was standing near by listening to everything. The owner, who I was certain would intervene, just left to go hide. If you find yourself in this place, be sure to order by number, better yet, go a little further down to Tamale's, also local owned and far better food, just a little more crowded and no...
