INCREDIBLE tacos!
Although I live closer to some of the top-ranked taco shops in Dallas, I will forever return to this tiny East Texas gem.
As you pull up to Oviedo's, don't be put off by the rough exterior. Walk through the door, pass through the convenience store area in the front, and head back to place your order at the counter of the small carnicería (butcher shop) and taqueria (Mexican restaurant specializing in tacos and burritos).

Read moreI felt as if I were stepping into a Mexicali B.C. tienda y taceria (store and taco shop) from my childhood. Their menu is extensive, and you can order prepared Mexican meats (by the lb) to go. Bring your own drink if you want something iced.
I ordered the barbacoa torta and the boss lady had two beef tacos. They were very tasty! The salsa bar is jammed packed with amazing salsas and various condiments; the orange one (which I suspected as having habaneros and carrotts) was spicy with a little sweetness. Free chips are not the best...but hey, they're free. We'll definitely be back to try their...
