A little piece of the Caribbean in South Carolina Upstate. This is the second time we’ve visited this Caribbean food restaurant, and we will definitely return again with other family members. From the first time we went, we have been welcomed with the same great service and high-quality food.
The food is made to order, the portions are just right, and the prices are reasonable. From appetizers to main dishes and desserts, you can taste that authentic Caribbean Latin flavor that transports us back to the countries where we were born and raised in the Caribbean.
The restaurant is well-presented, with traditional Caribbean décor and a professional, friendly staff that makes you feel like family. I had the opportunity to try one of the most iconic dishes for us Caribbeans—Mofongo. I’ve tasted Mofongo at many different restaurants, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was.
During my first visit, I had the chance to meet the chef and owner, and his passion for cooking and showcasing the best of our Latin flavors through his menu was evident. He mentioned that he will be adding more food options to the menu, and I’ll be keeping an eye out to try them as soon as they’re available.
So, if you want to experience that Caribbean flavor in the SC Upstate, I highly recommend visiting this family-friendly restaurant in Taylors, SC, to enjoy the aroma and taste of...
Read moreOrdered at 1 pm for pickup 1:30. We go to pick it up they said it would be abt 5 minutes. 20 min later they tell me one of my items the flan was not available so they were going to give me an extra guava juice instead. I said no I didn’t want another juice was there another dessert she said well they aren’t the same price was I going to pay the $1 difference the flan was $5 and her other dessert the tees leches was $6. I said no just give me my money back for the item then and she said no initially. I said what do you mean no I ordered it you don’t have it and I don’t want a juice. I didn’t even think in that moment the juice was like $3.75 amd I had paid $5 for the flan so she was trying to offer me something that was of less value especially as I had waited 20+ minutes more than scheduled for the food. She then gave me the tres leches cake. Overall the food was meh. The Cuban sandwiches were soggy and very little meat, the sofrito beef sandwich was an unseasoned burger so it was okay the steak bowl was okay nothing great and the tres leches was not good at all. I should of pushed for my $ back for the flan. The one item that was good was the guava and cheese empanada. Sadly, I will not be visiting this spot again. Many good Hispanic restaurants near by and this is not...
Read moreOMG! Yes, Please! Hubby and I were looking for a tasty place close to home and decided on Sofrito Rotisserie Latin Kitchen. Sooo glad we did. You order at the counter and the food is brought to the table. Please save room for dessert! We ordered the Shrimp Al Ajillo Mofongo, steak bowl with added shrimp, and fried sweet plantains. If you only eat one thing...eat the shrimp mofongo. So hearty, great flavor and shrimp cooked and seasoned perfectly. But we ordered more, the steak bowl was good, but add the secret hot sauce and it was perfectly balanced with seasoning, fresh ingredients and veggies. Plantains were spot on and needed no accompaniments. Dessert....please don't forget to save room. Churros and guava/cheese empanadas. Churros come with caramel and chocolate dipping sauces...crispy, yet soft bites of perfection. The guave and cheese empanada was excellent. I drizzled with caramel and then made a mess taking perfect bites. We will be returning soon to try more of the menu! Thank you for our...
