2nd time going to Maverick. Food was great the first time so we wanted it a second time. I enjoyed it enough to request it for Father's Day when my wife asked what I wanted to celebrate. She put an online pick up order around 8am - pickup ready @ 8:47am (plenty of time to prep the order). I drive 15 minutes to pick up and arrive at ~8:45am. After asking 2 separate employees who appear under age 20 about the order, I am still getting no where with why my order wasn't ready. They would just look at the table behind the counter where I assume to-go orders were being placed, not see the name, then go off somewhere else without given me an update outside of a head shake. Seeing they were busy, knowing it was Father's Day, I continue to patiently wait. After waiting 30 minutes past my pick up time, and no true update on the food status, I find a 3rd different employee, and inform him on on the scenario. He actually looked into it, after I specifically asked he do this. He blamed the servers and Father's day volume, then said he could "try" and rush it through, but it would likely take 30 minutes. Or he could give me a refund.
My biggest complaint is the lack of accountability and no one wanted to look into why there was in issue from the start. If this was done, I wouldn't have wasted an hour of my morning away from my 11 month old on my first father's day, for no reason. If the staff are all going to be younger/seemingly teenagers, ensure they have the responsibility to look into why things are not correct, not just go through the motions. The lackadaisical demeanor, quick to blame/make excuses, and subpar attempt at a solution has led me to this review and I won't be going back for quite some time. Needless to say, I took the refund. I'll just stick to Biscuitville down the street for our occasional "quick"...
Read moreWe've been here twice now. Our first time we tried out The Hangover which is a biscuit with bacon, egg, fried chicken and covered with gravy and candied jalapeños. Also checked out a biscuit with sausage gravy and their Cinnamon Roll Biscuit. The Hangover was incredible, the chicken patty was hot fresh and tasty, throw on an egg and bacon and cover it with gravy and it's a winner. Just enough jalapeños to make it interesting but not over powering. Biscuit with sausage gravy was spot on. Unfortunately the cinnamon roll biscuit is a flop. I'm a sucker for cinnamon rolls and was really excited to try this. First couple bites were pretty good, but it just didn't have a lot of goodies on it so once you got through the first few bites it was just a big dry biscuit with a hint of sweetness. Second time we went we tried the Biscuit with sausage gravy and added chicken. I want to make this clear, their sausage gravy is incredible some of the best I've had. Menu said $4 to add chicken but I only got charged $1.50. I'm not complaining but there wasn't a lot of chicken but for a $1.50 it was reasonable I would love to get the $4 portion next time (and pay for it). Either way it was delicious. Also got an order of their loaded home fries. They were crispy and seasoned well then they topped it off with cheese, bacon and scallions. Absolutely delicious! Finished it off with a cheddar Jalapeño biscuit. It was pretty good with a hefty layer of butter. They have a butter bar and the pecan butter is legendary but I've yet to try it. That'll be next time. I'll be honest these biscuits are big, dense and cakey which is good but they are a little dry so you best order something with gravy or sauce. Overall we've been very impressed. The food is great and the employees are friendly and provide great service even when they're super busy. I did dock it a star for atmosphere only because their tables are too small for what they serve. We take a table for 2 and both times I felt like I was...
Read moreHad come in for the first time 2 weeks ago while I was in the area. My husband and I were super excited to try it out. Pulled in thought they were closed but they were open just not busy at the time it was around 10:45 on a Monday. Ordered 2 sangria (good) my husband a burger and me the Maverick club sandwich, they said they didn't have chicken that goes on it, it would take 20 minutes to cook it. I looked to see if I wanted anything else im not big into breakfast..I was really there for that so I decided to wait..after 30 minutes of waiting food comes out..I took 1 bite the chicken was way overcooked and dry..then I took a look at it, there was no bacon. no turkey. no cheese..I went to the counter to let the girl know that nothing was on it that was supposed to be, she said, that the cook was new (I did see there was only one girl in kitchen taking care of the drive thru orders and the 3 people that walked in after us...so i gave her that wasnt mean or rude about it, i get it its alot of work) She said "I can put the turkey, bacon and cheese on the side" and for me to put it on? I said no thank you... I said how long for a new one to be re-made..20 minutes.. after I waited 30 minutes for 10 small pieces of cold home fries and not the right order with dry chicken..again..no thank you, she offered grits as those are already pre repaired and quick again no thank you i would of gotten grits if i wanted them lol, never offered me money back for a whole sandwich with one small bite out of it... she offered another time to come back in, I declined as I was just in town don't live there... So she took down my name because I don't live there was just in area and said she will give it to owner as he owns the new one in Inman which is closer to my home... I said that was fine..still never heard from owner..gave it 2 weeks so this is where I do a review..
husband did...
