I had ordered my food online. I received an email stating that our order would be ready at 9:18pm. Upon arrival me and my son stood at the waiting area. We were not greeted due to the fact no one was there. A waiter passed by about 5 mins later and said that the host would be with us soon. About 2 mins after that the host asked (without greeting us) if we were dinning in or pick up. I informed him I had placed an order online and I was there to pick it up. I gave him my name(repeated it 3 times). He comes back and says that it was (being bagged) and would be ready in around 5 mins and for us to have a seat. I thought it was odd to take 5 mins to bag up food but then I thought maybe he just said that and it wasnt finished yet. No big deal. I waited around 15 mins before I could ask a waiter if he could check for me. I watched him look into bagged food on the bar counter then went by the restroom area. He never came back. I found the host and asked him where my food was and repeated what he had told me when I had arrived. I watched him look into the bag of food on the bar as well. The host then walked towards the back then comes back towards the front and grabs the food on the counter. As he is walking towards me I asked "is that my food that has been on that counter for at least 20 mins?" He replied "yes" I of course asked for the manager. I informed the manager what had happened. I told her my fries were cold along with my mozzarella cheese sticks. I also had told her that I havent been to this same location in over a year due to horrible service in the past but I wanted to give them another chance. Her excuse was that they are under staffed due to people spending their stimulus money. They have a special on bonless chicken running right now and also this is tax refund time. Businesses are aware of the extra spending during this time of the year. Not an excuse! I also mentioned that by time my fires and mozzarella sticks were done im sure my other food items were going to be cold. I told her it was unacceptable, many times. She was very apologetic and said she would replace my fries and mozzarella sticks and walked off. When she returned she gave me 2 orders of fries and 4 mozzarella sticks. I had orginally ordered 2 orders of mozzarella sticks and 1 fry, plus the other items that were not replaced. I thanked her for trying but she should have asked what my order was. My food was just sitting on this bar counter for at least 20 mins. The host was not attentive at all. He was moping around most of the time as if he was going to get in trouble for walking at a normal or faster pace. Of course by time I received the fries and mozzarella sticks the rest of my order was cold. I informed the manager that we were just going to go and asked if she could get my son a drink. She did give him a free Sierra Mist but as much as she tried the over all service was just horrible, irritating and unexceptable. I will not...
Read moreFirst let me start off by saying this. Prior to tonight I would have given them 5 stars, hands down. However, my review is solely based on my experience this evening. We arrived around 10:30pm on a Saturday night. Surprisingly they were not busy at all. The guy at the hostess stand asked how many in the party and proceeded to seat us. We were about to sit down when another server yelled at him that the section we were about to be seated in was closed for the evening. We were then moved to another table. We sat there about 3-5 minutes before our server even came by the table and took our drink order and appetizer order. When our drink were dropped off she disappeared again for about 3 minutes before taking the rest of our order. A few minutes later our appetizer came out, and they were just barely warm. Our food, on the other hand came out and was cooked well and tasted good. Our server swung by and asked how everything was before disappearing again until the end of our meal. As a result I ended up eating most of my meal without a drink. I also noticed 3 other tables being sat in our section and waiting quite a long time before they were even noticed and a drink order was taken. I don't know if that server was having a bad night, but she clearly did not care about her tables. Finally the manager came over and took the drink orders for the tables that were being ignored. When our server finally decided to come back to us she asked me if I wanted a drink refill. Really? No, I've enjoyed eating my meal without a drink. Anyway, she brought me a drink and asked if we wanted anything else. When the check was finally dropped off it was another 5-7 minutes before she came back to run my card. As I said in the beginning until tonight I've never had an issue, but I definitely do not want this girl as my...
Read moreI stopped by with my brother for something to eat, but mostly to sit and talk and catch up on our years apart. My brother ordered the chicken fajitas (which he did not comment on to me), and I ordered the Riblets Plate. The meat of the riblets tasted good and was properly cooked and tender, however, it was my mistake to think that these were just small ribs-- really, I didn't know!-- these are rib meat with chunks of cartilage and bone throughout. It's a game of finding those inedible chunks out of the meat itself, and that was challenging. Although the taste of the meat was very satisfactory, the inedible bits were annoying and if you're not careful, you might break a tooth on a bit of bone that is so well hidden in there. Be careful.
Our service was great, and I apologize that I can't recall our server's name, but he did a great job of taking care of us, we were both pleased with the service, and fortunately, the music was not too loud; both my brother and I have hearing problems, and loud background music become foreground music, and makes understanding conversation difficult. This wasn't much of an issue at this Applebee's, and we thank them for that!
I like Applebee's and this was suggested by my brother, so I guess he likes Applebee's too. I certainly would go back, but I'd not order the Riblet Plate again because I'm too afraid of breaking a tooth on hidden bone in...
