My family and I always drive by this place, but never sat down and ate here until today. The place was small and old, but the food was good. The menu was confusing though. I ordered their Polar King Omlette that comes with ham, bacon and sausage with cheese and potatoes inside it. Every omlette is supposed to come with either a side of pancakes or hashbrowns and toast. I chose hashbrowns and toast. Well apparently they assumed that since potatoes were put inside the omlette that they didnt need to give the side of hashbrowns and toast that came with the ordered omlette. After talking with them and re explaining it to them, they brought out hashbrowns and toast for me. My husband ordered a burger there. The burger on the menu says it doesnt come with fries or tots and if you want them its an additional $2. He wanted tots along with his appetizer of df mushrooms. Well the df mushrooms didnt come until our food did, and not only did they bring him his burger and tots, but apparently they give fries with their burgers too because they brought his burger with fries with the tots and mushrooms on the side.....food was good.....just the menu is confusing to the waitress and cook, they didnt understand...
Read moreVery sorry to leave this review, but this place is very bad. I'm not a gourmet food track guy I like simple diner food and the food here is just not good. I went in with pretty meager expectations. The smell of the bathrooms are strongly noticeable from the dining room. The fries seem to be the lowest quality frozen fries you can buy. They were out of several things we tried to order. The ice cream was very soupy and full of crunchy ice, again, seemed like the lowest quality cheapest you can buy. Even the ketchup here is in a weird reused bottle and does not taste good. The servers were extremely nice and apologetic for being out of things. It basically seems like a place where the ownership has given up amd just buys the cheapest lowest quality supplies to keep a few things on hand. And the prices are very high in my opinion for a basic mom ans pop diner but check the menu online it is available and judge for yourself.
If you just wanted to sit near the door and order a coke that would be fine...
Read moreI have driven by this place for years. The outside appears very aged, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I figured they must be doing something right to be in business so long, their building screams the restaurant is old
When you walk inside, you can tell from the architecture that the building is as old as the exterior suggests. There were separate groups of old men eating together at 12:30pm. I sat down on a stool at the counter, and ordered the cheeseburger. Tots were an extra $2, plus I ordered a large soda. The total was less than $18.
My food took about 5-8 minutes to cook after I placed the order. The burger was large; lettuce, tomato, and onion were fresh. (I opened the burger to inspect it) Because the burger was so big, I could have skipped the tots. While a double patty burger sounds delicious for future visits, I know I would hate myself later.
Go ahead and give this place a try. It may not be a foody snobs paradise, but they obviously make a good meal for them to remain in...
