🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Date Night Magic at Agave Azul!
My husband and I had one of those spontaneous "let’s just go out!" nights and somehow struck gold by landing at Agave Azul. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like old friends—warm smiles, great energy, and the kind of vibe that makes you instantly glad you left the couch.
We sat at the cutest little two-top, and then entered the real MVP of the night: Angel—our server and now official honorary third wheel. Hands down, one of the best servers we’ve had in YEARS. Quick, funny, full of amazing recommendations (hello, dreamy cocktails!), and truly on top of every detail. If there were an Olympic event for service, Angel would be bringing home the gold.
Let’s talk food. Instead of the standard chips and salsa, they brought out this chef’s kiss bean-stuffed tortilla with green sauce that made me question everything I thought I knew about appetizers. I ordered the fish tacos—SO flavorful and fresh—and my husband got some glorious trio platter with all the greatest hits. Every bite was a win. Shoutout to the kitchen team for making magic back there!
We left full, happy, and already planning our return. Between the next-level service, the fantastic food, and the buzzing, welcoming atmosphere, Agave Azul just earned a permanent spot in our date night rotation.
THANK YOU to Angel and the whole team for making our night so special. We’ll be back soon—and we’re bringing...
Read moreI tried Agave Azul out once 2 weeks ago and left baffled. On my 2nd visit today, I was sure-- this is a GEM of a restaurant and like Nicholas, it is helping turn Gresham's rep as a "fast food wasteland" around. The service at lunch quite honestly is also baffling, in a good way. I felt like I was being waited on at a 5-star restaurant. The single front-of-the-house person was an absolute professional in every well-timed interaction. All this talk, and I've not mentioned the food. The food is unbelievable. If you're after a simple mexican dish full of bland flavors & a little spice, you'd be better served hitting up El Ranchito which caters to that niche nicely. However, if you want rich, bold, and gulp flavorful flavors, you can't do much better in my experience. These guys top the food with from-scratch sauce, marinated meats, use fresh high-quality ingredients, and pair things that you wouldn't have guessed. Prices, especially lunch menu, are above and beyond reasonable. They are CHEAP considering the quality. Everyone I watched at lunch had their food within single digit minutes of ordering. Long story short, you will likely be surprised by whatever you order even if a simple quesadilla or burrito. It will not be familiar, and in this case it's a...
Read moreI am so happy with my time here. I have not had such delicious, authentic mexican food in quite a while, I mean years! Not greasy, not overfilling and it didnt make me feel icky afterwards like some mexican restaurants foods! I am very impressed, as is my husband! The food was hot and fresh, so very very fresh. The free appetizer is a small soft taco with beans, cheese and a little bit of green sauce (instead of bottomless chips n salsa like many mexican restaurants). The service seemed a little flustered when we entered, being quite busy, some things were a little slow but they quickly picked up the pace like champions. It's a small building, what looks like it used to be a house, so a little tight between the tables. I wish it hadnt felt like I was part of my neighbor tables conversation, buuuuttt I do see the busy-ness as a good sign! Oh, that flan was INCREDIBLE, I...
