So I've officially had the worst Mexican food eva! I'm from New York, then Florida so I've had my fair share of Mexican food. Went to Gretna to visit my hubby at his job for lunch. We decide on this place. Neither of us been here before but believe me when I tell u, the presentation was awful. My husband got the special # 9. I think it was 1 taco and a 1burrito and 1 piece of a quesidilla. The taco was stale, and thin. And every item was weirdly small and seperated on the plate. A thing I use for my blind patients during meal time" mr smith ur taco is at 12, the burrito is at 3 and quesadilla is at 6. etc . Plus, it was ice cold. I was suspicious of some of the ingredients. I started wondering if they were really mexican. I could go on and on...... Mine was even worse #12. Special. Cold as hell. I'm not sure what I got but it wasn't what i ordered, I think. Anyway a coworker who came with us looked to have the best meal of the 3. The fajitas. So if u have to eat here the fajitas is ur best bet. good luck! Ps my hubby told me they put American deli cheese in the quesadilla. And I figured it out. We only paid 40 dollars for 4 ppls meals. You cannot adequately make these 4 meals AND make money. We still left a good tip cuz servers don't make shiznit. And...
Read moreWe usually eat lunch in Danville after church, but family was in and we were visiting an area in Gretna so we decided to try El Cazador. We were a little concerned at first because the parking lot appeared to be almost full. That's a good sign for the quality of the food but not a good sign for speed of service. Much to our surprise, we were seated immediately. After examining the menu we placed our orders. I got the #1 I believe. It had a taco, chili relleno and refried beans. The taco was good but nothing really special. The refried beans were better than what I have gotten accustomed to. The chili relleno was the star of the show for me. It was prepared a little different than what I am used to. It was definitely better than what I usually get in Danville. I am well pleased with the food. The service was excellent. Despite the crowd, the wait for our food was not bad at all. Our server was very kind and courteous. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and left pleasantly full. If you're in the Gretna area and are looking for Mexican style food, then this is the...
Read moreSo, first time experience and long time lovers of Mexican cuisine. This place had outstanding service and the restaurant was very clean. The staff, even though they were dealing with a very large party; about 22 people in our group, never missed a beat. The food came out quickly and I never lacked a drink in my cup (my biggest pet peeve). However, the three star rating is because of the food. I got the Nacho Macho and was asked if I wanted hot or mild. I ordered hot. There was zero flavor. The cheese was nothing more than canned nacho cheese, the meat had no flavor and didn't even taste as though it had salt on it. The grilled onions were so few I'm not even sure why they were there. The portion was good, but overall I wouldn't order it again. Very disappointing. This may just be a matter of one dish, but for more than $8, it should have...
