Food Lion — Local services in Gretna

I love our local food lion. The cashiers are so kind one helped me load a program on my phone for more savings and coupons!( I'm not very tech savvy) the organic isle has increased and shows fresh produce, as well as organic choices on the other aisles. I see they now carry "fresh" plant based burgers in the meat aisle, not the frozen hockey puck version. The store is always clean and the cashiers know most everyone by name, it's small town and for the same amount of miles drive, I choose food lion over Walmart anyday. I never have to scan groceries or if I'm needing assistance a real person can help me carry the groceries to my car. I enjoy food lion and shop there weekly. My love how they are future forward thinkers and more plant based, organic alternatives are offered and stocked. While we do eat meat, we often enjoy meat alternatives as well; they have organic , grass fed meat to choose from. It fits an array of shoppers...

Gretna Food Lion is located in a tiny town at the intersection of US route 29 and 40. As such, it is typical of that brand of stores that can be found throughout our region. Atypically, however, this particular grocery store is fortunate to serve the public with a smile, and attention to detail that makes shopping there a true pleasure. When we are on our way to a weekend at Smith Mountain lake, we usually hit this store late in the evening, just before closing time, to pick up perishable and frozen foods that wouldn't travel well over the drive from Richmond. my grandmother came here and picked up some muffins when she got home I tried one and it was hard we looked at the date and it had expired 2 months ago. I went to take them back and the cashiers were all standing around talking, when I told them about it and handed them the receipt they asked me if I had gotten it from there store. Long story short they tried to tell me I was a liar and tried to not refund me my money. BUTTT why would I sit there and try argue over some muffins like I have other things to do then argue about some muffins...
