McDonald's — Restaurant in Gretna

I ordered their crispy chicken sandwich deluxe meal. I really liked this meal in the past however my sandwich needed more cooking time this go round. Other than that I enjoyed my fries and coke. The young lady that took my order made you feel welcome as she greeted customers with a big friendly smile and was nice and seemed to enjoy her job. Unlike McDonalds in Chatham as they need to learn how to act and classes given on working with the public. Also need to use their brain when my husband took back the fries due to them tasting as the top came off the salt shaker when applying it. We ordered him something to eat and had the fries requesting an exchange. They were still in their carton box filled to the top yet told us they wouldn't exchange because we didn't call and let them know so they could take our name down. Hello, seems to me anyone could call claiming anything to get free food instead of proof in hand to exchange and wasn't our fault they put tons of salt on them. They were very rude and unprofessional to say the least. Due to how we was treated as a frequent paying customer since they acted as they did we gave their chicken sandwich back and got a refund. By them not treating a customer with respect and exchange what they know was their fries they not only lost two customers but like 15 others we buy lunch for when working taking a lunch break plus now had a $5 sandwich to throw away and give us a refund on it to boot. Then had the nerve to tell us we no longer could come there and be served as if we would want to after being treated like we had been done. It's time us customers stand together for whats right and stop going to give our hard earned money to places that mistreat any of us. What's right is right and what's wrong is wrong and I promise you this very young so called manager she claimed she was did everything wrong and she was rude as they come. So I'll be the first to stand by others that were done wrong and unfairly just post it and spread the word so we all can teach these rude people if not for us customers they wouldn't have a job so treat us fairly and respectful. Say NO TO MCDONALDS IN CHATHAM, VA. Just a short distance either direction there is another McDonalds you can eat at and not give them a chance to mistreat anyone else at the Chatham location. After hundreds of McDonald's for over 30 years, this one has genuine community feel to it when you walk in. The people greet you heartily, the walls are adorned with local school and recreational sports teams they sponsor, and their McCafe orders to their special breakfast requests for sammiches or nugs are accurate and some of the best I've had at all McD's up and down east coast, to PA and CT, down to FL and LA, west towards Four Corners, the furthest being in Utah/Arizona. Gretna's McD's got it going on!

I get the dogs out of the car at this one, as their grass and mulch areas are plentiful for stretching legs and potty breaks. Speaking of those, this McD's restrooms are the cleanest we'd ever seen when we first started stopping here on the way to hospitals and specialists in Roanoke a few years ago. As of this February they are sparkling and stocked. Haven't chanced use of such a small circulating space during covid19 for personal health reasons.

Staff are very pleasant and capable. They and management are model McD's for all others to follow. Thanks for the indulgent extra cream iced caramel coffees before stressful procedures. Always perfect! If ever they weren't, I'm sure folks at Gretna's McDs would not only correct their mistake, but compensate with a free item or a gift card for future use, they're just that proud of their customer service...

When I got there, I pulled right up to the speaker. Glad. It took close to 10 minutes for them to ask for my code. Gave code, she said okay. So I went on with my order. 2 double cheeseburgers, Large fry and drink and a 20 PC nugget. Asked for ranch and hot mustard, she rudely said I had to pay for the extra sauce. I said that's fine. However, I have never been charged extra for 2 different sauces for a 20 PC in all my years, but whatever. Was told to go to the 2nd window, again rudely. The young lady was super sweet, definitely not the same girl. Was asked to pull up. Was hoping something was going to be fresh. Waited and waited and waited. Rude girl brought my food out, shoved it towards me, as soon as I took it, she turned around and went back inside. No thank you, have a good night or anything. I drove the 7 minutes straight home. Got home, nothing was hot. Luke warm at best, My husband's burgers were swimming in Ketchup, couldn't taste the mustard, had to try to swipe some of the ketchup off and add mustard, by this time the buns were a soggy mess. Completely unacceptable. The only bright spot in the whole transaction was the sweet young lady at the window taking the money and it was a beautiful evening. So...
