The food here was really good. Service was nice, atmosphere was alright. It is a beautiful old Victorian mansion . Tables were very close together so if you're not interested in a very intimate dining experience with strangers, then I would advise against. Hubby got bumped into a few times.. Tables were plastic outdoor party tables that you couldn't really fit the chair legs under. it was really quite strange. Presentation was nice. They had black table clothes, salad fork, dinner fork, butter knife. Water in wine glasses, and regular beverages in fancy wine glasses aswell. The radio was disturbing.. Lady Gaga didn't really suit the environment or fine dining type dealio. My glass was dirty, so attention to detail wasn't quite there. Although the meal presentation was beautiful. Food tasted great, so that is a win. Server was friendly. Ohhh... we came with 5 adults and one small child ( 1 year and a half old, so very small) and to our surprise at the end we seen that they had pre added a 20% gratuity. So they basically tipped theirselves 20% without first telling us. She said that a party of 6 and over will be auto gratuity of 20%. So just good to know. The menu is decent and the prices are around 20-24 per person. The food we had was excellent. However we had a older lady for a waitress and the service we received was horrible. It is bad enough to have a waitress that doesn't provide good service by checking on you periodically, filling request... IE steak sauce, or request for refills etc. When paying a premium to dine I absolutely refuse to be treated rudely while doing so. She may not be a normal waitress and others may not have experienced a issue. In all honesty she acted like she wasn't worried about repercussions. All I can say is she will never wait on me again. I doubt I will ever be back as all of us were dissatisfied with the service. Gratuity was added in as there were 6 of us. However I did not pay the full tip. We had a 7:30 reservation tonight, but when we arrived people were waiting and the hostess curtly informed us it would be at LEAST half an hour before we would be seated. She said they were short-staffed because someone had gone home sick; this was the same excuse for the wait given Thursday night when my relative visited the restaurant. We noticed several open tables, however, and the crowd of people waiting in the lobby could have easily been accommodated. We may have been more receptive to the situation had the hostess not been so rude, and it would behoove her to remember that regardless of their circumstances, whether real or fabricated, were certainly not our fault.
