Lloyd's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Grosse Ile Township

BEWARE DESIGNATED DRIVERS. Soda is sold by the glass and there are not free refills. I have been to Lloyd's twice so far and will be going back.

The service has been the shining star of this establishment. Have had great, friendly wait staff both times and they were attentive and inviting. There seemed to be good camaraderie with the clientele.

Food was good for a sports bar. First time was a burger and if it was hand pressed, it would have fooled me. The toppings are tasty though and the fry selection was a good choice. Brussel sprouts have a lot of balsamic glaze on them, seemed like a worthwhile upgrade to the side items.

Second time, had the Mexican Layered Salad. It was on par with what I was expecting, but a very generous portion. I can usually overeat at a restaurant, and this is two meals for me. I left happy. I hear the pizza is good, and when I am off keto, I'll give it a shot.

Ambiance is sports bar with a side of being classy. Demographic seems to be aimed to gentlemen who like wearing tech polos that have sports logos on them. People seemed friendly and amicable with the staff.

However, I have to remove stars for selling soda by the glass at a bar. Many times, that would almost be free to ensure that people have an option while not driving drunk. It also was not communicated previously, or on the menu. Seemed cash grabby and communicates to me that there are corners being cut for the sake of money. I get nervous seeing maneuvers like this in a restaurant, because the next thing that usually takes a hit is the ingredient choice.

What's up Lloyd's? We have been dining in once a week and have not had any issues. The wait staff has been very attentive, the food arrives quickly and hot and tasty. However, since you opened the outdoor patio, the staff has not been able to keep up with the expanded customers in your bar. We have only been in 3 times since you opened the patio because of problems. Wait staff has forgotten to bring items, not attentive so unable to flag them down to ask where food is. Food has arrived cold or not cooked as ordered. We were in last night and waited over 1 hour to receive our food. Six wings, tomato basil soup, chips, and a 10" pizza. Waited for soup, finally arrived, then she brought out the chips, very hot and tasty! Thought the rest of food was coming right behind, but, no! The waitress came by and said it would be out in just a couple of minutes and we waited for another 20 minutes. Wings were done before pizza so they sat waiting for pizza to be done; when they arrived at table, the wings were COLD. They prepared a new batch, but, the wait time was the worst we have ever encountered. We really do like the food but something needs to be done with the timing of the food to table. Stick with the pizza

Looks like the pizza is what they do well going by the reviews. I can tell you the perch plate isn’t neither is the shrimp The place wasn’t busy at 3:09 on a Thursday but I still had to flag our waitress down twice.

The food was room temperature and had zero flavor. The perch were tiny and mostly bland breading. The potatoes were undercooked so to make up for it they over cooked the broccoli. This is simple pub grub that they still ruined. The shrimp dish my wife ordered was no better. Luke warm and zero flavor.

The side salad was the closest thing to OK until I tasted their balsamic vinaigrette dressing. At first I thought I caught COVID again and lost my sense of taste. After a nice breakfast and lunch the next day I realized I still have my sense of taste it’s just Lloyds uninspired food.
