Legacy Eatery is a nice little diner situated in Grove, OK. It is not far from Grand Lake. I was surprised by the amount of food options they had to offer. I personally ordered the chicken fried steak dinner. It was a nice sized portion. It came topped with peppered gravy, two half slices of toast, with a choice of 2 sides: I opted for mashed potatoes and the onion rings. The chicken fried steak was fairly tender, I enjoyed it. The onion rings were cooked in a home-style batter. They used big sweet onions, and the flavor was good. There wasn't anything special about the mashed potatoes and gravy, but it was good, too. The toast, however, was too greasy for me to even eat. Some may perfer it that way for the flavor. It just was not for me. That's okay. Do keep in mind that the diner is small, and if you blink, you will drive right past the restaurant. There is not much seating available. I would recommend checking their hours of operation and seeing what their busiest times are, so perhaps you could avoid the rush hours if possible. You may even be able to call ahead and ask how many tables or booths are available if you are planning on going as a group. I went as a party of two on a Wednesday at 7:00 PM for dinner, and we did not have a wait, but we did acquire nearly the last booth available. Our service was paced fairly normal, and the waitress was polite. Also, because it is a small diner, you can feel the heat coming from the kitchen. Be sure to dress comfortably. They do have extra fans stationed in the diner, but as mentioned, the warmth is noticeable. If you are going for dinner while the sun is setting, you're going to feel that as well during the summertime. Overall, Legacy Eatery is worth checking out if you're in the area and would like some country style dining. Hope you enjoy!

Great little place, when I say little that means not a lot of tables. Don't plan on taking a big group and sitting together. That said, absolutely take a big group and enjoy the food. Probably one of the largest burgers around. I had the Cheyenne Burger. It was hearty and good. My only complaint was how messy it was with the spicy BBQ sauce. That, however, is a personal perspective. I'm not a big fry person but these were done right. They are thick, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were well seasoned but I'm a dipper so I can't say how much the seasoning gave to the fries. My wife thought they were good. My wife had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fries okra. She loved the okra, thought it was one of the best she's had. She also love the chicken fried steak and potatoes. The steak was thick and not over breaded. The breading was light and crispy, where the gravy didn't cover it, and had a mild flavor. My only complaint when I tasted it was the gravy. In my opinion it could use some flavor, the salt and pepper on the table can add that flavor but nothing like having a good peppered gravy. Again, that is a personal preference so please don't let that detract you. The service was great, when our server was tied up another came to check on us. When we were finished we were offered to go refills on our drinks which I think was great. And honorable mention goes to the fries pickles. It is only honorable because we didn't have them, only saw them go by, they looked great and didn't appear to be the typical premade frozen kind. If you get a chance try them out, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Wow!! what a surprise..this place is fantastic..1st the Cheyenne burger is a must try..one of the best burgers weve ever had. No question all the ingredients were fresh..The chicken fried steak was Real steak and it was great(thought it would have came with gravy however)..the fried mushrooms were also fresh and some of the best ive had..spicy green beans were fresh and very good..for us the hamburger was the star of the show..worth the price 100%..come here as soon as you can..you will not regret it and you wont get better food in Grove. Update..the Southwest Pasta is the best pasta ive ever had.

We're just visiting Grove, OK from Springfield, MO and we searched up food near us and this place popped up. We absolutely fell in love with this place so much so that we have ate there twice since we have been here, and most likely will eat here again tomorrow before we go back home. The food is made fresh and from local sources. They have lots of different food like burgers, catfish, pasta and even chicken and every bit of it is so delicious. I personally got the Southwest burger and I mean it when I say this, but it was the best damn burger I have ever had in my life. The restaurant owner was going around and talking to everyone and just absolutely super friendly. All the staff you could joke around with and it just felt like you were at home joking with your family. I definitely can see us just driving 2 hours from Missouri just to come eat here again, because it just was so delicious and wonderful. If you are ever near Grove, OK, this is the...
