R Bar Dance Hall and Saloon — Restaurant in Grove

The worst!!! I rarely go to bars but made the unfortunate choice of going to this one. Won't make that mistake again! 3 drunk people in the parking lot picked a fight with my boyfriend and I as we were walking in. He was punched in the face multiple times by 2 of them. Called the police. While we were waiting, the owner came out and began screaming at me, tried to make me leave and told that me that I was trespassing. I still cannot believe that an owner would act this way. Told her police were on the way and was screamed at again to leave and that I was trespassing. Tried to tell her that we were not the problem and then owner told me that she believed her employee, who it turns out, was one of the men who assaulted my boyfriend! And the other 2 people are apparently the bar owners close friends as well! How nice! One of the men has just gotten out of prison after 16 years and is still on parole. After speaking with the police, we also find out that this wonderful bar owner does not even have video cameras! Who doesn't have video cameras at their place of business, especially a bar? Shows how much she cares about her patrons! The business next door does, thankfully, because we certainly couldn't trust the owner of this establishment to take sides against her employee and close friends. Hopefully, the 2 will be going to jail soon, thanks to the video cameras next door. I will never ever ever ever go to this place again and suggest you don't either! When an owner of a bar not only finds it okay for her employees and friends to assault you, sticks up for people that have been obviously VERY over served and then screams at you, something is very wrong! Felt discriminated against by the bartender Teresa. ,because do to surviving tongue and throat cancer I don’t talk very plain anymore and I was there with friends and family,never got out of hand,was never disrespectful,or rude,in fact stayed in the same chair that evening other than to go to the restroom 2x. You can pull up your cameras and see.i was very polite.i would never treat a customer the way she did. I used to be a bartender so I know .i even tipped her 10$. I’ve been to R bar A few times And enjoy the atmosphere. Everyone has been super nice each time I’ve been there. I usually take my mother with me and we both really have a good time. When seated at the bar, we have gotten amazing service. Most of the time it is the bartender Theresa that serves us and she keeps our drinks filled, Which isn’t easy when it’s so busy. I have seen and heard a lot of intoxicated people while there and staff have always shown to be professional. After having worked in a bar before and had to deal with those who had too much to drink, It’s not easy. and I have never been in a bar before where the staff were concerned that everyone gets home safe.
