My boyfriend and I are from out of state visiting the area, and we were very hungry! We stopped in to grab some food, but initially left after we noticed a lot of the menu was in another language and there was a language barrier for us. As we were walking away to find something else to eat, the owner of the restaurant tracked us down and offered to fix whatever made us leave. He translated for us, took our orders, and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. He also made sure to tell us we were family once we walked through the doors. After we got our meal other staff came out to make sure our food was good (the seasoning on the ribs was probably the best I’ve ever had) and the woman working behind the cash register apologized to us just for having to wait a few moments in line. They were so thankful that we gave their food and restaurant a try and told us a bit of a back story about how they got started. We come to Groveland every now and then for hang gliding competitions and we will definitely come back to this restaurant. Thank you from Tennessee for making us feel like we...
Read moreGreat food, fairly priced, and authentic! We arrived on Friday around lunchtime and there wasn't too many people in the small restaurant which consists of mainly outdoor seating. We ordered the bistec with rice and beans and a side of an empanada. All of these items were made to order which took about 10-15 minutes. They give you very big portions of rice which can last you two meals if you aren't too hungry but since the food is so good it will probably finish it all. Overall we were able to get two meals, empanadas, and a drink for around $15. A steal! The restaurant is very small inside with one table and a few chairs and has many outdoor seating for nice days. Definitely a place you go to for great food at a...
Read moreThe food is great but you are better off calling in your order and picking it up. It is a tiny place with no a/c or fan. There is sitting outside but you will be waiting for a LONG time. I placed an order to take out and it took 1hr and 5 mins. Still worth the wait to get authentic Puerto Rican treats like k-bobs made from pork and chicken with their own barbecue sauce. They also have meat turnovers made out of beef, chicken and crab meat. They are delicious. They also have a different menu every night. It may be considered a dive in the United States but in Puerto Rico it will be the place to pick up a little something...
