Our visit to Fins Bar and Grill turned out to be a delightful dining experience. We were seated instantly upon arrival, which was a pleasant surprise considering how busy the restaurant seemed. This immediate seating set a positive tone for the rest of the evening. Our server, Aaron, greeted us with a warm smile and a genuinely friendly demeanor, which made us feel welcome from the start.
Aaron's attentiveness was evident throughout our meal. He promptly brought us menus and took our drink orders, providing recommendations with a level of enthusiasm that indicated he genuinely enjoyed the food himself. We decided to start with the clam chowder, and we were not disappointed. The chowder was rich, creamy, and loaded with clams. It was quite filling, more so than we had anticipated, which was a testament to its hearty nature. Each spoonful was a comforting blend of flavors, perfect for a cool evening by the beach.
For our main course, we opted for the tacos and the fish and chips, both of which came highly recommended. The tacos were a particular highlight of the meal. At first glance, two tacos might not seem like a lot, but these were super-sized and quite substantial. They werenât your typical tacos; instead, they offered a refreshing and modern twist on this classic dish. Each taco was generously filled with fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and presented in a way that was both appealing and satisfying. The flavors were vibrant, and the portions were more than enough to satiate our appetites.
The fish and chips were equally impressive. The fish was battered to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was accompanied by a generous serving of golden, crispy fries. The dish was served with tartar sauce that complemented the fish beautifully. The quality and freshness of the fish were evident in every bite, making it clear why this dish came so highly recommended.
What made our dining experience at Fins Bar and Grill even more enjoyable was the atmosphere. While the restaurant's proximity to the beach is undoubtedly one of its attractions, we found that sitting inside was a more comfortable option. The interior of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, providing a respite from the blowing sand outside. The decor had a relaxed, beachy vibe that added to the overall pleasant ambiance.
The service throughout our meal was prompt and efficient. Aaron ensured that our drinks were always topped up and checked in on us at just the right moments without being intrusive. His friendly nature and attention to detail greatly enhanced our dining experience.
In summary, Fins Bar and Grill exceeded our expectations. From the instant seating and friendly service to the delicious food and comfortable ambiance, every aspect of our visit was enjoyable. The clam chowder was a standout starter, and the super-sized tacos offered a delightful twist on a classic dish. The fish and chips were perfectly executed and highly recommended. Choosing to sit inside turned out to be a great decision, as it provided a cozy escape from the elements. We left Fins Bar and Grill feeling satisfied and eager to return for...
Read moreThis is a pleasure to write : After walking the beach on a very busy Saturday (7.12.25) the hubs and I on the spur of the moment decided to visit Finâs for a cold beer and appetizer, before heading back down the beach during this extra busy Saturday. Fortunately they had a table for us, so we could take a little break, we love Finâs and have what we consider our regular table whenever itâs available.
We find an open table , I check in at the front, as soon as we were greeted all that stress from the crazy walk down the beach started to lift : The sweetest young Lady with a big pretty smile greeted us âHi , I am Journeyâ - she became a friend not a server, this happened immediately, she listened to my retelling of the Wild West beach walk , assured me our unplanned stop at Finâs would do the trick. While she took our order it truly felt like I was at a friendâs house. The relaxing vibe the beach typically offers came back thanks to Journey taking such good care of us. Thank you so much new friend.
We had a Tri- Tip quesadilla to share with our ice cold drafts. I asked Journey to please thank the kitchen, I kid you not, this was the best quesadilla I have ever had - full of tri tip, not too much cheese, which is often the case. It came with extras and three sauce toppings. I am pretty sure it was on a tomato wrap , grilled perfect with that little bit of crisp, still soft and yummy. I just loved it wasnât so over cheesed you could enjoy all the flavors.
As our now friend , Journey checked in with us , she assured me she let the kitchen know of our pleasure and thanks. Going out isnât just about the food itâs about the experience what a great experience. Though I joked with Journey, I need call an uber back instead of the trek through the wild , I let her know thanks to her and our yummy treat I could indeed make it back.
I know this is a lengthy review but I really want to share this experience - I also witnessed another server make a very classy and thoughtful move to her guest. After calling to let the Manager know of Journeyâs treatment of us, the class I witnessed and the yummy food - I also spoke with the owner - I encourage you to do a little research about Finâs- they do a ton for the community - and itâs obvious to me the staff is treated like family , they in-turn pass it on to us, the guests.
I have always been happy to come to Finâs- after this experience and all I have learned, I , my hubby and our pup are excited to come back. We might be blessed with Journey again - life is a Journey, and I feel her beautiful spirt lead us on a gentle trip, so I could face the walk back - đ¤Şplus I got a treat! Thank you Finâs , Bruce and your created family...
Read moreOWNER OF FIN PIG SLOP - Bruce Van Vort.
This place is a local FOOD KITCHEN that you have to pay for! The ambiance at best is the slight view of the beach - the only good thing about this slop kitchen. The clientele ranges from desperate tourist to the mobs of trailer trash near and far that come here every Saturday and Sunday to celebrate with Bruce Van Fart's microwaved TV slop dinners. Honestly, all the BAD REVIEWS are correct!
The OWNER of this Slop Kitchen is crazy, Bruce Van Vort. I complained about my food and he screamed at me and my dinner party. All the awards that this little angry man at - 5 FEET 5 INCHES TALL - as well as a mentally unstable tyrant is of no avail. The newspapers say that he get rewards for Helping the Homeless, Adopting Random Children, and forcing you - The Public - to pay high prices for the slop that he would not even serve at his homeless food kitchen.
A little maniac tyrant like this NEEDS to go out of business. He treats his customers with a total lack of respect and carries himself as if he is in a dive bar... wait this is a dive!
He gets an award for serving at a food kitchen. Big Deal. His restaurant serves terrible food at high prices; he screams like a frantic lunatic at customers, and carries himself is such a shameful way and disgraceful manner.
Do not give this little man with a anger problem your business. He feeds the homeless the "good stuff" and makes you and I eat and pay for Pig Slop.
A little man who feels like a big man screaming at his customers - - with his vicious tempestuous and angry temper. Be Careful if you go here.
Women and children are not safe here. He will scream at them too. This man is a fraud and a joke. He thinks his off beat food kitchen for the homeless will make his look like a Local Hero.
If you have the best food, the best service and have a talent for being the best owner - knowing how to carry yourself with class and dignity while being fair and NON discriminatory (treating all customers as equal: men and women; black, white and brown) instead of carrying yourself like a quick tempered, quick to judge crazy man , maybe people in this community would have more respect for you. And, you wouldn't have to try so hard to get your little awards .. for what again?
Truly a nasty "slop restaurant owner" NOT a local Hero.
