Yesterday was my first time visiting this establishment and I will never visit again. I tried to give them the benefits of the doubt but is so unprofessional and ghetto. We came in the hostess was very professional and warm welcoming she sat us at a table it did look like a big party was getting up to exit at the time we waited a while before our server even came she came we put in drinks and appetizers her whole demeanor was off from the jump she brought out our drinks 3 childrens drinks and 1 adult cup for my sister we then asked for waters with lemons she brought them again with an attitude I waited 45 mins for straws for the water I ordered 2 seafood boils for my children and a dozen of crabs for me and my sister we asked for crab sauce she brought one condiment to go container of sauce for all of the seafood she had her AirPod in on the phone the entire time and everything we asked for seemed to be a problem I then asked for the manager why did I do that she came over with an attitude and said we are short staffed due to a large party last weekend that got half of our staff sick I may didn’t get to ur table but were under staffed (But they had majority of the tables unavailable because they had just had a 65th birthday party) why even accept the guest if they aren’t able to be accommodated I would take quality over quantity any day. I then watch the manager go to the bar and discuss what I said to her to the server and bob her head and roll her eyes I then went to the bar and asked for her manager information she asked me could she switch my server I explained that I was ready to go and all she can do for me is give me my bill which was 217 for 2 boils and a dozen of crab. She proceeded to write down a number with a name of Billy. I paid the bill cash which I wasn’t satisfied with at all I exited the restaurant and called the number it was the number to the establishment and the person I spoke with said no one by the name of Billy worked at the restaurant. I then called today 2/25/24 and asked to speak to the manager they put the same rude manager on the phone I asked her could I speak to her manager she puts the phone down and says that’s the lady from yesterday and I need you to take one for the team whatever that meant someone by the name of Chelsea got on the phone to say that they were understaffed I went on to explain to her what happen and saying that I didn’t even get an apology let alone something off my bill she told me that she apologized and that she would deal with the employees once they got there which was another lie because mind you the lady just told her the whole story and told her she needed to take one for the team at this point I deserve a full refund. Read moreI am a regular at sea boil crab house on Richmond Highway and tonight I have had by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had in the past 6 years that I have been visiting this establishment. To start, the server was less than attentive to our table and the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. But to make matters worse, after we had paid and were about to leave I asked a group of servers who were standing next to the register for a box because I did not see our server. This group was just standing around not attending to other customer or tables and not doing any work whatsoever. I later found out that this group was not just servers but also included a manager named Morgan who instead of her or another nearby server getting me, a paying customer, a box, she made us wait while she went to go find our server. Our server returned a few minutes later to ask us what we needed and I proceeded to ask again for a carry out container since it was obvious at that point that Morgan had not even bothered to tell her what we needed in the first place. Getting a customer a box is definitely a task that Morgan and the other servers could have accomplished instead of making us wait until our server was available. Customer service is a team effort and both Morgan the other servers should understand that going forward. Furthermore, when I addressed this issue with Morgan the manager, she caught an attitude, rolled her eyes and gave a snarky response. This type of service is totally unacceptable and the way the staff treats their customers surely needs to be examined if you all want to retain your loyal customers. Read moreI had a horrific experience with the Sea Boil Crab House in Alexandria, VA today. I initially called to determine what crabs were included in the 2 dozen special. I was told they were out of the special for the day but that I could get 2 dozen males for $106. Of course, I ordered for pick up. Immediately, I got a call back saying they had just sold out of the large males to a customer inside the restaurant and only had medium males left. I felt this was a lie because they misquoted the original price.
I had my daughter call back to see if they were being truthful. She was told they still had a dozen large males, confirming they lied to me.
I asked to speak to the manager, who came to the phone with a big attitude. When I asked her to honor the price for the 1 dozen, she proceeded to tell me she would not do that. I asked for the name and number of the general manager and was told there was no general manager. I then asked for the name of the owner, and the rude, disrespectful manager told me she was the owner. Of course, I looked up the owner and discovered that he is an Asian male, so she lied yet again. Then she proceeded to hang up on me.
I have gotten crabs from them for a year now and never experienced such poor service. Their crabs are not well-seasoned and cost three times what you pay at the wharf. I hope her management sees this review and goes to that shop and trains his staff better. I will never purchase from or recommend them to...
