Best mistake yet! So I woke up with a hankering for Mexican food. I jump on ubereats and go to El Paso. Then I'm stopped by a notification telling me they aren't currently accepting orders because they are too busy. So now I'm searching. 3 restaurants down I see 4.7 rating El Fresco and decide to give them a try. Here's what I ordered: Side of Spanish Rice Side of Black Beans Elote Mexican Corn 1 Carnitas Street Style Taco 1 Steak Street Style Taco Carne Asada Fries, substituted with Pollo Asada
Note: When I mention salt it's important to note there wasn't anything that was over salted.
Here are my thoughts. Everything was incredibly fresh tasting. The food was packaged securely and labeled properly. The Pollo Asada fries with the guacamole was a dream that I'd love to revisit over and over again. The Meat in the Carnitas Tacos was seasoned well and tender. The steak was a tad tough but really nothing to complain over! I love how this restaurant's menu items compliment each other! Which is something I rarely see. For example the Spanish rice was flavorful but not too salty while the beans were salted (in a great way). I was able to mix the beans and rice for a beautiful blend. The fries were similar the fries aren't seasoned and chicken isn't too salty so when I added the guacamole it paired very well since the guacamole was salted as well. I had to say to myself outloud, "Ok, just one more bite." So I wouldn't over eat lol This is the first time I've ever ordered delivery and the delivery prompted me to check out the establishment.
Now, personally the corn wasn't good and the kernels were really small. From the corn being hot there was steam in the container pooling into water that the corn was sitting in. It's ok though because everything else was so fresh and tasty! They have Jarritos which I got a pineapple one and it was magnificent with the meal.
I need an excuse to go back! 😆 Thank you El Fresco for such a pleasant experience! Food is love and I DEFINITELY felt the love ❤️. Sorry there's no pictures, I was...
Read moreThey had a grand opening with $5 burritos on Sunday. I was unable to make it. I decided to go today and try it out. If you download the app, you'll get a free dish for lunch. I ordered the chicken fajita with double rice because I don't eat beans, elote corn, and a beverage. The corn was amazing. The chicken fajita and spanish rice were a little bland for my taste buds.
I'm scoring them 3 stars because they gave me beans. There's no way to mess up an order, and you're the only person there.
They have daily specials except on Sundays. Now, would I try something else from there? Absolutely. You all should check these guys out and let me know how...
Read moreWent for the first time today and was really impressed. I got the Dos Enchiladas (one beef, one chicken) with rice and black beans. The food tasted homemade, with fresh touches like freshly chopped tomatoes and cilantro sprinkled on the delicious rice and outstanding black beans. The enchilada sauce was better than any of the local sit-down Tex-Mex places in our area. As a snooty Californian who grew up on family-run Mexican restaurants with time-honored recipes, the DMV generally disappoints me with its Mexican/Tex-Mex offerings. This place broke that trend and was reasonably priced to boot. I will...
