Benny's Pizza & Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Guilford Township

We did not have a good experience. From the time we started, no one acknowledged we arrived until about 5 minutes after we arrived at noon in an empty restaurant. We ordered drinks, and this is where it starts to get really bad. One drink was a Mountain Dew, which arrived clear and tasteless; the syrup was empty. Fine, we'll order a new one and be came out with a confused look when we mentioned it. Got it replaced and started ordering. One item was ordered as a buffalo chicken salad, but with breaded chicken and no buffalo sauce. They didn't have an item on their menu like this and they seemed receptive to it. The salad came with buffalo sauce. We accepted it anyway. We asked for some extra ranch in lieu of redoing the salad and an extra creamy Italian for the other salad. They came back with a ranch for the buffalo chicken salad, and we asked again for another ranch and additional creamy Italian. She came back with 2 more ranch packets. We then asked again for creamy Italian (already had one, so just needed and extra). She came back with 2 regular Italians. We then ordered ranch as a substitute because they said they don't have any creamy Italian (remember we already had 1).

I love to support local. I also have years of customer service. We met my parents halfway. We had reservations. It started out ok. He couldn’t understand I wanted a soda for our 11yr old. He kept saying they had apple juice, I was asking for sprite. Then he brings our 5yr old a huge cup of lemonade with no lid. Our salads didn’t come without onions, dressing took 3x to get. The stuffed shells were dry. Everyone got their food except me. Other tables were being served. We never got our French fries. I tried to cancel my food and fries 3x he just kept saying “oh yes it’s coming “ the whole table is done. I just want to go. They didn’t have soup even though that is a choice with your meal. They never brought garlic bread that is to come with your meal. They gave my aunt the wrong order. They only good thing was the cheese bread. I’m not one to leave a bad review but come on. Everything is so fresh & delicious! The wait staff is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.

I ordered the grilled salmon salad and it was perfection. It was very clear that they had even roasted the peppers & marinated the artichoke hearts in house. The spinach in my salad and the lettuce in my boyfriend's side salad were both very fresh - that romaine lettuce is probably the best romaine I've ever had. My boyfriend ordered the spinach ravioli which was also delicious. And the bread, oh the bread... I did not want it to stop coming!

I've left many local places not feeling great after eating. Your tummy will leave Benny's full & satisfied. I cannot wait to return. This is a new favorite for me - definitely some of the best food I've had in...
