Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Guilford Township

I ordered a custom cake for my son's birthday. When I picked it up they did not have his name on it, which I let go. I told them that was no big deal, it still said Happy Birthday and I was ok with it. However when I got it home I realized that they had attempted to ice over another cake and did a poor job at it. There was pink icing dripping down the sides of the cake. I called to complain and was told to bring the cake back and they would make me a new one. I was unable to do that as I had guests arriving in 20 min. They then offered me a discount on a future cake. Again I told them I didn't want that because I didn't know when I would be ordering from them again. I just wanted some money back on this cake since it was not what I ordered and they did not do a good job. They told me the only way I could get money back on this cake was if I brought it back. When I went to this Dairy Queen Grill & Chill, I never expected what took place here to happen. Upon entering, I was instantly showered with confetti. I was bewildered, but at the same time, amused by the festivities. The employees hopped over the counter, disrupting several people's orders, and cheered me on. A banner above me fell down, revealing big bold letters 1,000,000th customer! I asked what I won, and they told me I won a free haircut. I found it really odd and said "Thanks?" I heard buzzing and a strong arm grabbed me around my neck. I was slammed through the glass door, and swept onto the ground. I helplessly watched as they shaved the words "Dairy king" into my hair. When it was over, they told me that I needed to leave or they would be calling the police. I left. When I returned home, I opened up my pocket, and found a crisp 100 dollar bill - An employee had slipped it in there during the haircut. I thought that was a really moving way to earn my forgiveness so I'm giving this...

Delicious explosions of flavor from not only ice cream, but burgers, too! My family and I eat there about once every other week and we've never had a problem. Even their attention to detail has been remarkable! We've had no mistakes even though the wife and kid both get special orders everytime. We do have to wait occasionally, but it has never bothered us since it's so good and it has only been for 5 minutes or so. I'm not sure about the inside since we always use the drive-thru, but the outside of the place isn't in the best shape. Someone should definitely fix their trash area since the fence around the dumpsters is literally held up with a tow strap and a couple 2x4s 🤣 With the exception of the flawed aesthetic behind the building, it's a great place with amazing food and ice cream. The wife just asked me to include that "the fish sandwich is phenomenal" as well! Good job, DQ!
