I want to preface this review by stating a couple of things. For starters, I bring my son to both the Chambersburg as well as the Shippensburg locations frequently. We've always gotten on with the company and staff. I also have a lot of respect for sales staff. I was a manager of a store that, not unlike Gamestop, often runs their locations with merely one employee. Being the only person running the place can be tricky, especially when nature's calling. However, we arrived on Saturday hoping to hurry in, buy a single game card and run out. Seeing the store was temporarily closed for a sales agent's break time was understandable and not an issue at first. We waited. We waited some more. And still, we waited. Finally I said never mind and we left, no purchase made, over 30 minutes wasted effort and it made us late to the birthday party we were expected at. It was probably an isolated and totally unavoidable incident but it wasn't the best showing for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off, I want to say the young kid I dealt with in the store was very nice and helpful. No shade to him at all.
But, I went in there this morning to grab a copy of the new Madden football game for Xbox One (as I do every year) only to find out the store never ordered any in for Xbox one š³ā¦a game storeā¦the kid said it was an āolder consoleā and they donāt get many of those inā¦Huh? I literally drove 0.1 miles to Walmart and got the same game on Xbox One. How donāt you have one of the most popular games out there (it was literally released the day before) and it would take ā1-2 weeksā to order it in, BUT WALMART, a NON game store, had plenty of them for every console? WOW.
I will never go back to a game stop now, Iāll just go to Wal-mart or target to assure I get what I need. Very sad and disappointing to see GameStop go downhill like this, used to be a hot...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis has been my main gamestop for a year now, and Iāve had a pretty good experience so far. The staff is always nice, though thereās usually only 1 scheduled per shift, so no matter if you come in the morning or evening, there might be a long line due to trade ins and other purchases since no one else is there to help. The selection is pretty good, though sometimes new games only have 1-2 copies available which can lead to them being sold out before you get there (this is a problem with all gamestops not just this one). This store recently took out their retro section, which is a bummer because I loved looking through what PS3 games they had. Most of the problems I have with this gamestop are the same as all the others, low staffing, low quantity of new games, poor/no retro selection, etc. But itās still a good place to go if...
