I had heard great things about this place but I can say I was hugely let down. The only good thing I can say about the place is the crust wasn't bad. To start off talking about the food. The sauce had absolutely no flavor. I can understand why everyone was getting the parmesan and pepper shakers. The cheese was nothing special at all, probably just a premix bag. Besides the food being mid at best, the aftermath is the worst. If you're a fan of waking up with cold sweats having to run to the closest bathroom, I'd highly recommend this place.
To start with the staff, they are completely lacking any type of hospitality. No welcome or any type of a greeting just "what do you want?". If there's more than one of you ordering, I recommend having your order completely written out to exact quantities of every item.Otherwise you'll be looked at like you just disgraced that cashier's family. We accidentally made the mistake of ordering as individual people on one bill so, instead of saying 3 slices of pepperoni total, we each individually said the amount that we wanted, 1 and 2 slices accordingly. And we received a look as if we said the most offensive thing to that cashier while she responded, "so you mean 3 slices?". Besides the attitude that we received, there is a complete lack of any type of organization to the ordering. We sat down waited for our name to be called and when we went up to get the food. We were ignored. The staff asked around for other people's names and even then, they weren't even sure what we ordered although they had a piece of paper written down in front of them.
I will say that atmosphere of a run down pizza place was nailed right on the head. But with that came a lot of uncleanliness. Although there was nobody leaving the pizza place when we arrived. There was more than a handful of tables that were covered in crumbs from previous guests. We watched staff come around to 'clean the tables' but that was them just returning the shaker and sauce bottles back to the counter and not even wiping off the crumbs. I would recommend going to the bathroom anywhere else. Even at downtown McDonald's and it would be cleaner. There was urine all over the floor and toilet. And quite honestly if you asked when I thought the bathroom was clean last I would say weeks, not days. The puddles of urine had been completely dried up so I'd been sitting for a while to get like that. Quite honestly. If I didn't squat over that toilet, I'd probably be catching something a doctor would not be able to cure. If they're willing to keep the bathrooms which are accessible to the public in this type of state I could only imagine how awful the kitchen conditions must be. And with how awfully sick I got from here, I must not be far off with that statement. It would be quite a field day for any type of food inspection person, I could only imagine the list they'd find wrong with this place.
Besides being completely let down and absolutely taken aback by every part of my experience of this place. I'd hope they can take feedback to their heart and work on everything wrong, because there is a lot of opportunity for...
Read moreI went in with my boyfriend on his lunch break to eat. We ordered two calzones. They typically come with Canadian bacon, ricotta, cheese, and mozzarella. Well my boyfriend ordered his with added sausage and pepperoni. I guess I should’ve done the same, but I am not supposed to lots of meat due to a health condition. I was very disappointed. There was probably about five pieces of Canadian bacon in the entire half of the sandwich that I ate, and most bites were only cheese. The amount of ricotta cheese was overbearing. I had assumed most of the meat had gone to the bottom when I picked it up, but was sadly mistaken. I took the other half to the counter and showed one of the men working there the inside of the calzone and he said he was sorry that it was supposed to have anywhere from 13 to 15 pieces of Canadian bacon on it and mine had about five. He asked me if I would like him to heat up some extra Canadian bacon to take with me so that I could add it for later so I agreed. After sitting there for 10 more minutes, my boyfriend had to get back to work and we had to leave. Well, I asked for it to go box and mind you. I don’t use aluminum foil in my home at all I just can’t stand it. The girl hand me a sheet of aluminum foil and a paper bag to put my food in. With the amount of money I paid for that cheese sandwich, You would think I could at least get it to go box. I felt sick when I left from eating that enormous amount of cheese and bread and the service I got just made me not ever want to go back. But hey, if you love grilled cheese,...
Read moreI have been in Gulfport most my life and most of the times I have ate here the staff have not been friendly at all. My wife liked the pizza here and I would always be the one to go get it. I have never felt welcome eating here. It wasn't until my wife picked up the pizza one day and experienced the same thing I had experienced that we decided that we wouldn't eat here anymore. The pizza was hit or miss with it only missing a few times, the garlic knots were never good. The service always was dry, unwelcoming, and slow. At first I thought it might just have been an off day, but it was everytime I went. It is my opinion after all my experiences here, that this place has a bias towards certain people who order food. This experience is not just from me but multiple people I have talked to who look like me. I always get my food, I am never refused service, and they have the right as a business to not serve me, but customers want to be felt like there business is valued and I don't feel like the workers feel that way. The culture of a business starts with the owner and I can only imagine what culture he/she has created. Brooklyn Pizzeria has been around for a long time and probably won't miss my business, but if I am not the only one who has had this experience here people will continue to stop going here. Good luck, I hope no one else has to endure this type of service, just to...
