El Lupillo — Restaurant in Gulfport

I came here hoping to get some good Mexican food. I got the three street tacos with rice and beans. The rice was hard, it was old and had been sitting there for a while. The beans were aight, nothing special and the tacos would have been real good had they at least TRIED to cut some of the fat off the meat before serving it up. Complete waste of money. Look, I absolutely love some Mexican street tacos. It's my favourite thing to eat but here lately every time I get Mexican street tacos from anywhere it's got a TON of fat on the meat. Makes me not want to eat it from anywhere anymore. This is the second time I have tried this place out and both times I wasted my money because I couldn't eat the food. And they didn't have what I went there to get in the first place, which was a Chimichanga. Their Biloxi location advertises it but they answered their phone then told me to hold and never came back so I could place an order so I came here instead, thinking they'd have the same menu....

Mid ahh food. The torta was poorly prepared. It’s giving white people preparing the food. The torta was missing the essentials like jalapeños, avocado, etc. Any essentials it did have was small proportion. Like the chicken… why was the chicken shredded and not a fillet.. why was there a touch of beans and not a smear like it should have, and where was the mayo? Mind you I clarified that I wanted it with everything. Also the cook and cashier had weird attitudes. Why did the cook ask me what my order consisted of… did the cook not tell them? Also hella expensive. Wym I paid almost $20 for a mid and small ahh torta, with a small side of fries. Outrageous. Do...

Read alot of reviews saying this is one of the better places for Mexican food. I don't claim to be an expert in birria tacos or Mexican food but most places taste very similar to me. Maybe bc im a gringo. Lol. I will say of all the places I've had birria tacos el lupillos had the most meat on them. Others were kind of skimp for the price. These were full of meat. I also ordered a carne asada taco and a pupusa. Both were good. The pupusa was really good. I would agree that it is better than than most places I've been too but not drastically. I will come by to try some other items. Friendly service. Food came out fast....
