My family and I have been going to Viddles and Joe every summer for the last 15 years. Their food is great, service is quick and the staff is usually friendly. Unfortunately, that last fact has changed drastically since the last time we visited.
When we came in to eat we were greeted by a staff person who was not wearing a mask and there were also signs welcoming people who choose to not wear masks. When we asked the staff person why they weren't wearing a mask, we were given a highly sarcastic reply that it was for a "medical condition" but they couldn't tell us which one. Any staff who has health conditions preventing the wearing of masks should either refrain from working with the public for their safety and the safety of others, or wear a face shield or other protective device. As for the sign, the most inclusive thing to do for your customers would be to protect their health.

I have reported them to the Minnesota Department of Health and would recommend that you refrain from eating there until they care for the...
Read moreIt was pretty okay. We didn’t leave hungry, but we didn’t necessarily leave satisfied either. The food overall was very bland. I don’t think the gravy was homemade, or at least it didn’t taste homemade, and it was served over a cold biscuit. The hashbrowns were okay, but they really needed some seasoning. It could be good for people who only season with salt and pepper, but I like a lot of flavor in my food.
Update in response to the business’s response: I’m sorry if my group’s opinion upset you. But the whole purpose of reviews are for a wide range of people to give their opinions of their dining experiences. Others might really like it, and they give their reviews. My group found our food to be bland and room temperature. That’s just our opinion, which is how people form their reviews. We also did not come during a busy time. There were two other tables while we...
Read moreHad breakfast obviously:) special of the day, riser I believe it was called... 2eggs,2 bacon and two pancakes. All cooked perfectly and the pancakes were just the right size. To be honest I ate every bite and I didn't expect to. It was a lot more than I usually eat, but that's how good it was. I didn't want to stop eating and didn't want to waste it(usually take cakes to go) this time it was too good I just had to eat everything and Indeed I did. Also the waitress, very attentive and I felt her warmth. I recommend this restaurant for breakfast, and I hope you all get a chance to enjoy a great meal. Trying to get the whole family out for breakfast? This is the place. It's perfect, has an old time feel, and has the best food/service that I have been lucky enough to experience.Try it, let me know, and...
