Have to admit that the place may appeal to college kids and word is their forte is breakfast so when my daughter suggested we go there for lunch I was apprehensive. Place is cute inside, we went on a Friday at about 130 and there were only a handful of booths occupied. Waitress was very drab and unpersonable. She was on top of refilling our water glasses though which is always nice. Started out with Buffalo chicken tenders which needed help. The chicken was overcooked and needed a great deal more hot sauce to be considered spicy. I had a cup of chili which was very watery and only tasted like tomato sauce with cayenne pepper in it. The beef was bland as well so overall I was disappointed with my order. We had a Reuben which was pretty decent, but the Onion rings really helped that dish. Nice sized with tasty batter that made you forget how greasy they were. The fried chicken sandwich was good but the fries that came with it were soggy and greasy. The chicken was cooked perfectly though. The last dish we had was the Turkey dinner. The mashed potatoes didnt quite cut it but the turkey was moist and seasoned well. Limited beer selection but they have full bar. Bathrooms were clean as were the booths. Pricing is a little high in relation to portion size. I would like to try their breakfast but will not go back for another...
Read moreMy husband got up early and went to Johnny's to have French toast and he enjoyed it and said it was not too moist and not too dry. Most times he's very disappointed in the French toast he gets but he liked it at Johnny's. We both went to Johnny's for lunch. Still in the infant stages, as they just opened, but we enjoyed our time there. My husband got the Reuben and I got the chili. Both very good. Reuben was small by NYC standards but still good. Chili only came with cheese. I asked for tortilla chips but they didn't have any so I asked for a roll with butter. Our server asked if I'd like a potato roll and I said yes. The roll came out toasted with butter. I didn't want it toasted because I wanted to sop up the sauce of the chili with it. Still, the chili was good but very spicy. Our server was extremely nice and he was the bartender as well. Atmosphere is like an old time diner. Overall, we had a nice lunch but, the restaurant needs some work. Breakfast is not served all day like most diners. Growing pains for sure. I hope they listen to the comments and consider them. They are affiliated with Johnny's Tavern so I expect nothing but good things from them in the future. Wishing them good...
Read moreI’ve infrequently come here maybe 2 or 3 times since they opened and always have a terrible experience. Every single time I go there I’m always either ignored or completely neglected. The only time I came into contact with the waitress was when they took my order. Each time I had to find a different waitress and either ask where the food is or ask what happened to the person who’s supposed to be serving my table. Without fail I always end up waiting at least 15 mins to attempt to get the check but every single time it never happens and there’s never anyone up front to pay so I’m left guessing how much I owe and walking out because of the severe neglect of the staff. No one ever checks in on my table if you run out of drinks or want something than too bad cause you won’t get it. In the 30 mins I would be there I saw several people walk about because they’re waiting around for someone to seat them but no one ever comes. No one ever does anything I don’t understand how this place is still running considering no one there does a damn thing except hide from current or...
