Krumpe's Do-Nut Shop — Restaurant in Hagerstown

Hurts to write this review, but every time that I go to krumpees(which is just about once a week minimum) i get the same donuts, and all of them seem to be getting smaller and smaller. I remember the nice, large, chocolate cake donuts and glaze donuts, and now it seems every time they keep shrinking! I’m not sure if the dough isn’t rising enough anymore or what is happening but it’s very disappointing :( krumpees has always been my hometown favorite

Edit: Came back again this week, yet again extremely disappointed. Order was incorrect even after I had asked them multiple times to confirm, got to the car and it was incorrect. Then when I proceeded to go back inside, they were very rude, and even charged me again for donut holes I had already paid for. Donuts still getting smaller, and my usual chocolate cream fill tasted like metal this week. Extremely disappointed to see and taste how it is going downhill so quickly, especially as a reoccurring customer. Unfortunately I don’t think i’m coming back this year, or altleast until the employees change like they do every year and then maybe the donuts will get better, maybe it’s just a bad batch of employees. It's been over 2.5 years since I've been to Krumpe's. And I MISS it so much. When my husband and I lived in VA, we would drive over 1 hour to go grab donuts from Krumpe's. The first time we went, we thought the location was super creepy. So we were afraid the donuts weren't going to be great. Oh boy, we were wrong. The trip was way worth it; and the staff was amazing. When we told the staff it was the first time we were there and not sure what to get the staff grabbed a donut right off the line and gave us samples. These donuts melt in your mouth. I cannot stress how delicious these donuts are... They are actually the best I have ever had in my entire life. We were hooked and went there very often when living in the VA, WV areas. Every time we go, there is a long line and never enough parking spaces. But we never cared. Best customer service and food =) Now that we are in Charlotte, NC, we miss it and wish there is a Krumpe's...

My mother is 68 now. I have listened to her rave about this place when SHE was young. Over the years of my life I never tried them. I been in Hagerstown, but it was never on my mind. Now I live here, and I decided to stop by one night, it was really late actually, like almost 2 am. I thought they were open, but they were closed. However, the kind gentlemen inside answered the door and we talked and he sold me a dozen and immediately I felt regret. Regret that I spent over 30 years of my life never knowing how delicious these doughnuts are. And now i just called to special order a dozen glaze doughnuts with white creme filling and chocolate on top for tonight. 7 pm cant come soon enough. I am so looking forward to these doughnuts.
