It's easy to miss this tiny little place. It's tucked waayy in the corner of the plaza but if ur fortunate enough to find them, u just might leave impressed, full and all at a very fair price! The only tortillas in town that our family buys regularly and i love them so much, their taco meat was the main course at my wedding. I'm not big on tacos but they have the best carnitas that I've ever had. We went here when tacos were the only thing on the menu and tortillas sold out by 6 pm. Now they've broadened their menu quite a bit! They have small corn tortillas and regular sized and a pound is only $1.50. I feel like that's a good price but then again I don't know the average price of tortillas because this is the only place we go. They make them fresh, in restaurant. They also sell chicharrones and tortilla chips and their green salsa is delicious. It gets packed fast and kinda hot for my liking while I'm trying to eat cuz it's very small but that makes no difference to me since when I eat there, i just get a pound of carnitas and tortillas to go. I hope one day they expand but it's still worth it to go. Trust me. I doubt u'll be...
Read moreSimply incredible. Truly the best tacos I’ve had outside of Southern California. The price is unbeatable, the salsa is perfectly balanced with flavor and heat (though my fellow gringos should beware if they’re lightweights on the spice!) and the tastes are fresh, delicious, and classic.
My wife orders the steak tacos, I prefer the Birria, but they have other great options as well, including quesadillas, flautas, and many other classic Mexican dishes. The facilities are charming, the staff is delightful. Truly a 10/10 experience every time. I’ve already been here nearly twenty times and I don’t even live in Haines city yet (we are moving in February). Unbeatable, fair prices, delicious.
I recommend minimum of three tacos for lunch or snack, but a big guy like me needs five or more. For dinner I’d recommend five or six. They’re simply delicious. They do have seating but the tables wouldn’t fit a super large group very well. Delightful place for a nice family meal out that won’t break the bank and will leave you raving about...
Read moreThe tacos are great. A bit skimpy when asking for extra condiment or cheese. The lime when asking for extra is dry and hard and juiceless... Wish they would use items like lettuce and tomatoes.. I bought a tostada once it was loaded with shredded cabbage. I get it that is how they are but some people don't like cabbage tostada's... These are not bad points but just an idea of pros and cons. Fried chicken is good flutes are good. All in all El Tarasco is a great clean place to take your family to eat. I admit, I'm just a picky eater. Make the tacos bigger. Make like value deals for lunch and dinner. My...
