OK I’ve lived in Haines City for about eight years and have never known about this place . Which is funny because my husband and I drove by it almost on a daily. Off of 27 you’re going to take a right after the checkers and keep going down till you go to the gated community the opening is there on the right hand sign it is all the way in the back corner. Came here to eat for their taco Tuesday we got a flyer in the mail about it was very excited. Service is great! We had Alanís she was fantastic. They’re basic chips and salsa or OK ask for the spicy it is truly spicy it does bring up the heat to an 11/10. We also got the queso and chorizo dip to go with our chips. Worth it in our opinions. I also got a Horchata which was huge in like the size of my head. Also very tasty. We ended up getting to taco Tuesday platters I know I would skip the ground beef it was very dry. Both the chicken and the steak were very good if I had the option to get three of the steak or chicken next time. Now with the Tacos it is three tacos at a time, a thing of rice and beans we were not allowed to take them home or share them. Which is fair if you find yourself not wishing to get more than one plate I would skip taco Tuesday on Tuesday. While we were there they were celebrating one of their staff members birthdays in the open it was actually kind of nice to see a restaurant celebrate their staff members like that. But the menu itself was pretty great and had some very nice options that we would love to...
Read moreFirst visit today for lunch and we ordered a cheese enchilada lunch and an enchilada lunch with one beef and one cheese enchilada. Both were served with beans and rice. We also ordered Queso dip. They served chips and salsa when getting us. The chips are fairly thick and the salsa is different than we have had before. It kind of reminded us of a chilled Mexican tomato soup, not spicy and really tasty. The Queso dip is a white Queso and is pretty bland. Not bad but not worth us ordering again. The enchiladas were very good. We had them prepared with a tomato sauce over them and I asked fir chopped onions on top. Both the cheese and beef enchiladas were very good and we will come back for these. Beans and rice are often not remarkable in taste and it’s much the same here. I will say that the rice is moist as rice should be. Service is friendly and our server today is Esmeralda. The hostess who seated us was friendly and so were the two other servers who brought us chips and salsa and our food. Tables are socially distanced and this was a comfortable experience during the pandemic. While we did rate this as a 3 star, it’s only because as a Texan living in Florida, my standards for excellent Mexican food is pretty high. We will be back as we would like to try some of the other menu items and may...
Read moreAfter attempting to eat at two other restaurants that had extensively long of wait times we ended up eating here. Firstly we waited over an hour (not lying) for our food for a party of 4 (plus two toddlers who didn’t get meals just shared ours). Others around us almost left because they also were waiting for a super long time. The food was pretty flavorless which is sad for a Mexican restaurant where usually things are bursting with flavor. It was definitely HOT temperature wise though that was a plus! They give you plastic utensils to use which was hard when trying to just chop and eat enchiladas. The salsa was odd but some in our party liked it. And the first basket of chips were stale. There also was a party of 19 that were yelling the entire time and we realize that it’s not the restaurants fault that they had rowdy costumers but it took away from the experience for sure. We won’t be returning to this restaurant and just want to warn about the food and extreme loudness that apparently can be if there are large groups there. I will say though the staff was very friendly and accommodating, A+ for staff! Sorry to write a not positive review but had to share...
