Mia Soto’s Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hallsville

For the record I typically don't leave bad reviews but this time I will make an exception. Let's start a couple of years ago or so, my daughter and I wanted a quick bite before a Friday night football game. I talked her into Mia Soto's. She wanted a quesadilla and fries and she got that but she was still hungry so I requested another quesadilla la carte. I was denied so we ordered another quesadilla and fries. When we received the order, no fries. No big deal, we were going to take them to go and eat them at the game anyways but we were charged for them. I shrugged it off. Continue on through multiple lunches with mostly poor service where we have to ask for refills, more chips and our tickets and such until the day they hired a young lady who is and has been amazing! (She's truly great!). I started to return with my coworkers nearly weekly because of this young lady. Everything has been great until this week when we got baited and switched and basically lied to. I'll explain. We entered the restaurant with a large party of 12 (give or take) and noticed a sign. "4 year anniversary, half off menu items except fajitas. " we all thought that was great. Several people within our party had quit coming due to bad service and the horrible attitude from the manager who runs the restaurant and they even thought what a perfect opportunity to rejoin the weekly department lunches. We even had the great waitress, a great day! We asked about the half off, she wasn't for sure so she asked the older lady (presumed to be manager's mom) if it was half off and she returned with yes. WOW! So we all ordered and things are great until the manager shows up in the middle of the lunch time rush with a full house of customers and TURNED THE SIGN AROUND! We knew it just from his bad attitude and poor services in the past, we got screwed. And yes we did. Full price, no discount, no I'm sorry, nothing. Table of 12 stated they will never return and told the waitress so. All she could say was manager said it wasn't for today. For reference, the manager is seen to the left...

REALLY regret going here. A big reason for that is because of the "owner". He was extremely rude. Acts like he can do and say whatever he wants. His customers are below him. We were just crouched outside, my side and I, as I can't stand for too long. Take a hit of a vape (quitting is quite hard..), have some time for our food to cool down from the microwave. "You can't crouch there. Don't do it again..". Walked inside before we could even apologize. I don't think he thought we were customers, if he did.. good way to lose them. I understand his intent but I thought it was the vaping. We couldn't crouch down for a minute? That seems excessive. He could have actually talked to us.. and kindly asked us to not crouch down.. in from of the "restaurant".. But he just walked inside, through the other down down from where we were. Food had no flavor. My fajitas "the meat and onion, mostly onion, that I make myself, was so hot that the oil was popping in my face and chest area. For 4 of us.. Over $80. Not worth what we got.. Do yourself a favor. Go to the Dairy Queen down the road. They're so kind, and actually have good food. 1 thing. Props to our waiter. He made sure we had everything we needed. Kind. He should be the owner, honestly. Good job owner 👏. Learn to show a little kindness to the people...

This place will lie about prices and when you call them out of Facebook , they will try to make you feel dumb and uninformed. Please go to other eateries in Hallsville, saying the customer is not always right on Facebook def shows you do not care about your customer and to state I was asking for something free , I was not , the order should have been remade with the correct price on their “ special “ charged , any up charges should have been mentioned when the order was placed. This ad does not state the special is “corn” only , when a customer calls in for a special and states that , why ask the opposite of the special. I really hope this owner or whomever calls the shots there really looks in the mirror in the actions done tonight, also they advertise sun thru thurs open till 8:30 pm, this is also not true, they specify on Facebook closing different hours than what...
