Pho Hung Restaurant — Restaurant in Haltom City

Wow. We have been coming here for years for pho. We ordered a sauted noodle dish today and the noodles were burnt to blackness and the dish was bitter from the char. We mentioned to the waiter and he hesitated for a few seconds then told us thats how its made. We couldnt get over this remark as we eat Vietnamese, chinese, laos, thai etc food and have never encountered anything like this. We called the front and stated that this could not be right and one of the servers came and stated she would bring a new dish instead. This one was exactly the same ingredients but the noodles were toasted and not charred which is how it was supposed to be originally. Oddly enough when we checked out she charged us extra for that order despite their mistake. Never coming back to this...

The food is delicious. We ordered the Charbroiled Pork Springrolls, Pork/Shrimp Vermacelli, and the Pork Combination Rice Plate. I could eat here more often if the service was better. We were one of the two families dinning in, you'd think the server showed a bit more hospitality. She walked to our table after we'd been seated not a single "hello", but "are you ready?" We laughed it off, but each time she came over, that was all she had to say. That, ontop of her inability to refill our empty water and tea glasses; left a huge impression. The server is the face of the company, they can make or break the experience. I'd find someone who wants...

This place had always set the bar for some of the best pho in town. It had also been 3 years since ive been. I used to visit frequently.

Maybe it was an off day.

The depth in the broth was not there. Itll be a while till i return but its very obvious if your American and do not know your history with the Vietnamese culture that the wait staff can seem a bit cold. I do not blame them.

If you search around the area. Some other pho restaurants will definitely remind you by posting newspaper clippings by the register of americans executing Vietnamese during the war.
