I’ve been eating here for years. The service is excellent. The setting is pleasant, and the bathrooms spotless. While I’ve never been to Vietnam, judging by the large number of Vietnamese guests that have sit happily eating their food any time I’ve been there, I assume it’s authentic. What I can definitely attest to is just how delicious it is. This place has spoiled all other Vietnamese restaurants for me. It’s just that good.
I also want to add a few notes about the few one-star reviews I saw.
To the gentleman who claimed he was ravaged with food poisoning mid-meal: that’s not how food poisoning works. You likely had a stomach bug before going, or ate something bad hours prior that finally decided to act. Just google it. I thought this was common knowledge, but, hey, at least now you know.
To the lady who claimed she’s eaten here for years, loved the food, but came once recently to find it closed: this is a global pandemic. EVERY business has changed. EVERY business has been thrown curveballs and had to react. How many businesses have had to unexpectedly close for the day over the past 5 months? You ate here for years, loved it, and then found it closed one day and THAT is what prompted you leave a small business that you loved a negative review? That is so entitled. That is so mean. That is so selfish.
To the owners and staff: I’m pretty visibly queer and I’ve never been treated with anything but the utmost respect at your restaurant. Thank you. I hope you and your families are doing well and keeping safe in this difficult time. You guys deserve every 5-star review in the...
Read moreI've literally eaten at all the other Vietnamese restaurants around here many times, and somehow only got around to this establishment last night ~8pm...
Good news: Although I noticed garnish-type items missing from my bún thịt nướng (grilled pork vermicelli) like cilantro, peanuts (well, there were a few specks), and cucumber slices (OK, I really don't care about this one)... both dishes tasted great. I was also very protective of my super delicious milk tea. Service was pleasant, decor OK, restrooms nice, and prices fair. Aspirations of a 4-star review but...
Bad news: I could only eat about half of my huge portion, as my stomach started to hurt. I assumed I was getting full, but as I struggled to get back home, it was evident we both had food poisoning (and we didn't even share each other's dishes). I recently remarked to my doctor how I haven't been sick for a couple years, but that came to an end as I spent several agonizing hours in the restroom last night. I've been dizzy this morning, but have a renewed appreciation for life.
Normally I give a 1-star rating when both diners get food poisoning, but would like to be more reasonable. I called the restaurant ~10am to give them a heads-up about the incident, in case something could be done to prevent another occurrence. I appreciated their offer for a discount on my next visit, but politely declined, as I normally don't come back to a restaurant in cases like this. I sincerely wish them the best, and encourage everyone to leave fair/accurate reviews for relevant...
Read moreI really don't recommend this place anymore, only because they don't know how to use their debit/credit card machine to process transactions. I believe my debit card was compromised by someone that works here. Some how my debit card info was stored in there system, I found out on 1/5/17 which was a day after eating here that and after looking at my account it turns out that my info was use to make multiple purchases at Ross #351 in eastchase totaling around $400 that I never made. I'm really disappointed because I was over draft $-400, and now I have cancelled my card and maybe have to switch banks because of this. Please have second thoughts in coming here, or any private restaurant. If anything I really recommend bringing cash in hand to make purchases. The food is good, but security and privacy...
