Pho Nam Restaurant — Restaurant in Haltom City

Before there were boba tea places by all the colleges and pho was widely known in the area this place was here. This is where I first had pho and thai tea and boba and it is still my favorite. Reasonably priced and very tasty. I have noticed many of the newer places are rather bland in comparison. This pho is my go to when I feel a cold coming on too. Better than OTC meds, imo. The thai tea is not watered down or over iced. I don't like it when there is so much ice in the tea that you can't get to the boba buried under the mountain of ice. That is not an issue here at all. Huge plus for me is that when you order a boba tea it is served in a glass with a spoon rather than a plastic to-go cup. If I'm not taking it out I do not want to waste the single use plastic. I usually get pho from Pho Hung but they closed early on XMas eve so I decided to try Pho Nam right down the street. First of all the pho was pretty good. I’d give the broth a 5/5, the noodles a 4/5 and the meat a 3/5. The reason for the 2 stars overall is that the shrimp spring rolls we ordered were absolutely horrendous. Their beef pho is SO GOOD! I am so happy to find a place that will give you either lean brisket -or- fatty brisket depending on your preference, instead of just assuming you like the fatty kind. Their iced code with condensed milk is also delicious. All of the items on their menu are affordably priced and they have lots of variety. We will definitely be back in the future to try...
