I went for breakfast after listening to my wife rave about Sunny Street Cafe. Everything about this restaurant was good. Actually, it was great. I ordered coffee and water before ordering my food. I was expecting your every day, run of the mill cafe coffee, which is rarely a great cup of joe, but this coffee was a really good coffee. Not too strong, not too bitter. It was a very well balanced brew with a very light floral and even lighter chocolate tone. For breakfast I ordered what they called a Low Country Benedict. It's buttermilk biscuits, pimento cheese and hand-breaded fried chicken topped off with two poached eggs and sausage gravy. I was a little concerned that the pimento cheese would over power everything else, but, surprisingly, it blended very well. Congratulations, Sunny Street Cafe! Your Low Country Benedict has dethroned the Lonesome Rancheros at the Lonesome Spur as my new favorite breakfast meal in the Dallas/Fort Worth area!

I didn’t get a picture this morning. I was starving and my mind was somewhere else. I ordered biscuits and sausage gravy, 2 eggs sunny and crispy hash browns with onions. The service is spectacular even though my onions weren’t in the hash browns. It could’ve been the way I communicated it to him. I ordered, said the hash browns last, and then said, oh and onions. He acknowledged it but he also was running around getting drinks for tables that weren’t his. The biscuit was amazing. Gravy, no. Minuscule sausage and it was very bland. The eggs were cooked correctly but they were ehh. The hash browns tasted like a large amount of grease. They also were crispy as I asked for. The menus do need a good wipe down or at least mine did. The restroom was clean and once again the service and host were top notch.

A great, no frills, clean, fresh atmosphere. Staff was very attentive & friendly with an easy sense of humour. The homemade chips are wonderful & proof that they take great care of their fryer oil unlike too many other places. The chicken tortilla soup was of very high quality & flavour. Also had the fancy grilled cheese - the bacon was better than hoped, leaving us impressed. The turkey club was a perfect portioning of ingredients with the chipotle mayo being a real treat. Certainly going back, bringing family, friends & recommending strongly! Excellent experience all around!

I have been coming to this cafe as a lunch option for just over a month. The food is good and normally the staff is wonderful.

Today is the first time that the wait staff has been rude.

Taking our order. She informed me, I couldn’t get my meal the way I had been ordering it prior (over 5 times to count), I stated that it’s never been an issue before.

She walked away without a word.

I then heard her discussing my order with the other waitress on staff. At no time did she come let me know that she had figure it out. Offer an apology, nothing.

The water I asked for to accompany my coffee was brought to me ten minutes later and immediately followed the delivery of food.

She didn’t speak a word to me as she dropped off the plates. She only spoke to the other individuals at the table. Didn’t once check if our food came out good or to see if we needed anything. Never stopped to refill drinks. Eventually she came to gather plates and said “Are you down with these” picked them up, and placed the ticket on the table.

Apparently the ticket being on the table meant she didn’t need to come by again, as I had to flag her down for a refill for my coffee. Never stopped by again after the coffee refill. Didn’t offer to-go drinks.

When she checked us out, she didn’t speak a single word to me. Didn’t ask about the service or the experience or how was the meal. Just offered a good day and promptly walked off.

Such a shame. As I enjoyed coming here and was recommended this cafe by several others. A complete disappointment. I found my experience here today to be out of the normal, again I have had a minimal of 3 or 4 different wait staff when we have been there, and not once did this occur.

It made me feel uncomfortable and as a patron I was unwelcome to be there. I do hope that the waitress who felt it was necessary to be rude to a patron see the errors...

Went here for breakfast about 11 am on a Sunday. The place was busy, about a 15 minute wait for a table. The counter had open seats and there were only 2 of us so we sat right down. We were promptly greeted by the friendly lady working the counter. All the food coming up to the window looked so good! I was so hungry that I wanted to order everything I seen. I finally settled on the eggs benedict and it was delicious, cooked perfect and hot. The home fries were crispy and fresh. I couldn't help but want one of their "baked fresh daily" muffins, yes, the advertisement totally worked on me. 😂 I got the lemon, blueberry muffin it was also fresh and delicious. My husband ordered a coffee, which I never do simply because I'm SO picky about coffee. I use a percolator, very old school and I will not settle for cheap, rock gutt coffee. I have never found a restaurant up to my coffee standards until now... The coffee here is very good! I ended up drinking most of my husbands coffee and that never happens. My husband and I both agree that we found our new breakfast spot! We can't wait to go back and try more items from the menu, maybe the pumpkin...

We have eaten frequently over the years. Our experience yesterday 4/23/23 was enough to make us never want to go back. We walked in and they tried to seat us at a table that was one inch away from another table. The people at the table gave us weird looks and my husband tried to scoot the table a little and the hostess looked appalled. My husband asked if we could sit somewhere else and they sat us in a booth right by the restrooms where we got to sit right by a cart of dirty dishes and got to here the waitresses argue over who was going to take our table. We ordered 2 chorizo omelettes and my son got a kids pancake with eggs. It took over 30 minutes for our food to come out and there was no chorizo in our omelettes. They basically gave us a veggie omelette and covered it in some kind of black bean salsa. They gave my son sausage instead of eggs. We could tell the food had sat for a while. It almost felt like the whole staff was punishing use because we asked to move tables. I think we saw our waitress 3 times total? I honestly don't know if we'll every...
